If you like war movies, then I would reccomend "Saving Private Ryan". I beleive its based on a true world war 2 story.

I don't think it is based on a true story.
Good war movies by war:
World War Two: The Thin Red Line (1998 version)
Korean War: M*A*S*H (set in Korea but it's really about Vietnam)
Vietnam War: Lot's of good ones, the best is probably Apocalypse Now (the extended Redux version), also Good Morning Vietnam, Born On The 4th Of July and Full Metal Jacket.
Although Saving Private Ryan gets all the publicity, The Thin Red Line has much more realistic battle scenes, and more fully captures the horrors of war.
I can't think of any good 1st World War movies, but any that come along will be completely outshined by the TV comedy series "Blackadder Goes Forth"

Braveheart is another good movie. This movies one of my favorites too. Its based in Scotland/England, and is about a man named William Wallace who attempts to free Scotland from England. Its really good, and you should definately watch it.

I've seen Braveheart and it's awful. It just takes liberties with history and then claims to be fact.

Another Great movie was "Gladiator", which starred Russell Crowe. I am sure most of you have already seen it. It has won many awards, and I can understand why. Its awesome, and truly captures the mood of Gladiators when they were about to fight in Coliseums around Ancient Rome. Those of you who haven't watched it, I only have two words:

Today I watched "The Beautiful Mind". Its a pretty good movie starring Russell Crowe, and has won many academy awards.

Today I watched "Forrest Gump". It stars Tom Hanks, and it is an amazing movie. I reccomend it for anyone who enjoys a narrative type story.
