TAOC Discussion

So, will this ever go open sourced or are they going to keep all the work they've done to themselves to rot?

Hopefully it already has gone to the few people who would genuinely help behind the scenes. I doubt they would just publicly release it for anyone to plagiarize, just hoping they gave LC the code.

To be honest they might as well. There is little difference for them personally they aren't going to earn out of it any which way.

OPEN-Source doesn't work like that there is nothing like "plagiarize" in foss(free and open-source) people who can programme contribute code to the project or people can donate some money if a person feels some features need to be added and the maintainer doesn't accept those the person can "fork" the project.
of-course it mostly depends on the type of license you use for the code

It's sad to see such a great project go down but it's quite understandable when you look at real life. Anyways JK and LM all the best for your life and we all hope that you will give away the source code and all to people whom you trust. :)

Well they might want to use it on their CV's to show potential employers what they can do. I would not want to release it publicly because then many can claim to have written it and it will be harder to verify who the original coder was.

PLus just look at the members on this forum in the downloads section, I would not trust them at all, very seedy bunch of people .

Jk please give us update on status of the game on a weekly basis . we are eager to know more about progress. :facepalm

Hello everyone who bothers to visit these forums anymore (I'm sure I'm not the only one lol). I have been following this game for almost a year and I have finally decided to register and post something on thee forums. I understand that LM and JK have stopped working on this game but I'm just wondering why they won't release the source code to LC (who seems preety keen to work on it) and maybe a couple of other members they trust. I'm not very good with computers and am just wondering what the problem is with giving the source code to someone? It just seems that you guys have done way to much work to let all of this go to waste. We are all greatful for all the work you have done and why can't you just let somebody else finish it off. I know you guys have given up all your spare time to work on this game and from my understanding of what a source code is, it seems a bit selfish to me not giving it away. If you guys feel that your not getting anything out of it I'm sure that everbody will be worshiping you and maybe a couple of thousand or maybe tens of thousands of dollars in profit might be enough.
If either LM or JK somehow ends up reading this please have a think about it. Maybe give all of us a Christmas present lol. Anyway, that's enough from me.
Thanks for all the work you have put into this game.

Cheers

The only point of this thread is to see if we can get it through the 200.000 views barrier before the New Year.

Come on everybody, we can do it!!!
