Because there'll be another row when the TV rights are up again in the future. These rights aren't for all of eternity.

yeah...local cricket councils in india should be the best exhumers(is the word right?)... today read in the Hindu that a case had been filed against BCCI for awarding the 1999-2004 rights to DD...and i think we are just being optimistic when we say that they will be announced tomorrow...if they are then its good but we should be ready for a last minute showdown between the board and the channels...and I dont think Pakistan is in a position like Aussies who refused to play without broadcasting...and this fact worries me...

Well i think Sony Max/zee telefilms should win the rights because here in canada v only get sony max and see telefilms out of all the other options

thats not being fair to 100 million cricket freaks here in India... 
but i guess that whichever channel gets the rights, channels in Canada will try and buy the rights to telecast in Canada...like a series in Australia, we see it here on ESPN Star... or the same with matches in England...

Are you crazy... Sony? I don't care if that's the only channel you get... Sony's broadcasting sucks. Sorry...but that's just bull****. As for the Indian board....obviously there will be future problems in telecast rights. In fact I foresee one in the next week. And after whoever secures the rights secures it (by some miracle), they will hike their rates and there will be a channel vs. cable operator fiasco. It's terrible the whole system set up here. Oh well. Cricket will live past everything!!

it might if u have sony coz in UK when ESPN or sum1 shows cricket in india, sony gets rights and shows it!

Which Channel won the rights ?
It definetly should'nt be DD.I hate it and in the fourth umpire always K Srikkanth and some other guy will be fighting and Charu Sharma trying to cool them down.

nothing till now. the meetings expected to last for a few more hours.
also the court decision has to yet arrive.
maybe we 'll get to know it tomorrow.

3 tests with the nd/3rd one at Kolkata
and an additional ODI at Ahmedabad.

Yeah...and the series may be postponed a few days. This is my prediction:
If (fortunately) the series doesn't get postponed a few months and does take place during March, the test matches will take place in the three scheduled places (Mohali, Kolkata, don't remember). BCCI will muck up in the TV rights again and we'll see another Ten Sports - DD arrangement where Ten will produce the telecast and DD will broadcast it. We cricket lovers will be at their mercy, all over again.
