Hey Vaibhy great reply mate, I usually don't post a lot in "Comparison" threads. But this one was just unbelievable. Next we might be having comparing Rahul Dravid with Tatenda Taibu. What is the fun guyz? Atleast make a reasonable comparison. Sachin is just what Vabhy's Avatar says. I can also post more and more stats but I found no fun comparing Sachin and Inzi. Inzi is an arrogant person and Sachin is coolest customer, a great sportsman I have seen so far.

We are not comparing the personalities of the two people involved. Its just about their batting and the way they play. Arrogance can sometimes yield you good results, where being cool can sometimes yield bad results too. You need to know how to react in what situations. Lets keep the debate at their game rather than their personalities.

I'm English, I think Sachin is brilliant. I have to say that Sachin is brilliant at every a batsman needs. Inzaman is very good also, but his sweepshot needs improvement *cough* collapse on stumps in 2006 *cough*. Seriosuly though, Sachin by a distance.

Ok Sachin is not the Tiger Woods of Cricket because in Test matches the best batsmen is Brian Lara, even if you look at stats and all that Brian Lara is better than Sachin at Test Cricket maybe not ODIs but Test goes to Brian for sure

You mean Tendulkar physically tries to influence the umpire and says that he didnt edge it, etc? You are just going by his reactions.

Tendulkar is obviously the better batsman than Inzamam. More consistent, more of timing and placement than brute force. Running is also part of batting, and Inzamam is one of the worst in that department (dont say its becoz of his physique, which is entirely under his control to change the way it needs to be).

Yes, saisrini. That is exactly what I am saying. And what do you mean I'm going by his reactions? On the TV, I see the umpire and Tendulkar. Tendulkar's pointing to his bat, etc, and TECHNOLOGY shows that his bat was NOWHERE near the ball.

Seriously, he needs to grow up.

Tendulkar is a CHOKER. He does not live up to expectations. He has played match-winning knocks, yes, but not as many as Inzamam.

Vaiby, if you kindly read the thread, it says TEST MATCHES ONLY. That goes half of your argument I wonder why people bother posting when they don't bother to atleast read the first page.

Anyway, do I need to list Inzamam's achievements as well?

Also vaiby, all the achievements you have listed for Tendular are his PERSONAL feats. He has not played for the team very much at all.

Statistics don't lie, and the statistics show YOU ARE WRONG. The statistics show that Inzamam averages 78.16 in matches Pakistan win, while Sachin averages 62.11. A difference of 16.05.

Inzamam plays better and more match-winning knocks which take his country to victory, unlike Sachin.

Have you even MET Inzamam? Have you even SEEN Inzamam for that matter!

Sachin a great sportsman? Don't make me laugh. He tries to fool the crowd, his fans, the umpires, and most of all himself into thinking he didn't edge a ball when he did. I'm glad technology exists.

No offence to Inzi, but Tendulkar is a legend. Inzamam was a very very good cricketer, but Tendulkar created an aura, a hysteria in the cricketing world has been matched by few. The style with which he plays, the number of fans he's created, the stats that go along with him every time he goes out to play puts him way ahead of Inzamam in my opinion.

Yes, the style he plays with. Foxing umpires, and the like into thinking hes not out. What elegance. The number of fans - I think if we look at %s, Inzamam will have more. Even Dinesh Karthik has more fans due to the number of people in India.

And the stats? Thats a joke - as far as match-winning knocks are concerned, Inzamam leads the way.

props to you for starting this but you knew it was going to be a one way street.

I voted Tendulkar just because of the average. I like Inzi more but in my opinion Sachin is a bit better. Tendlukar has overstayed his test career by about 10-15 matches in my opinion, I hate it when a good player in any sports stays there to get runs/points even when they are struggling it just ruins a good career.

I have provided you statistics, and PROOF which shows Inzamam is a better match-winner than your Tendulkar.

I've also decided to filter only Inzamam and Sachin's last 50 test matches, as this is probably when these 2 were and are at their best.

Sachin Tendulkar in his last 50 Tests: averages 47.36.

Inzamam-ul-Haq in his last 50 Test Matches: 54.36.

A difference of 7.

Shall we explore that further?

As i said, both are legends. Sachins most centuries is leading him to front. Inzi is one of favourite player. Inzi has won many matches for pakistan than Sachin. Basically Sachin hardly played any match winning innings for India. Once i remeber was in Sharjah, Sachin really played one of his greatest knocks and take India to final. Both are legends and cannot be compared with anybody. They both have their unique style playing cricket. Sachin is better than Inzi becasue of his most 100 and Inzi is better than Sachin becasue if his mnay match winning performances.
