Terrible pieces of sportsmanship in cricket - disgraceful Randiv

How quickly did you get this one going. If the guy that this happened to isn't complaining then why are you?

We may well start discussing about disgraceful acts then. And, I really don't think it is about Sehwag not getting to score a century but, about SL not displaying a true spirit.

Oh Randiv, you need lessons for how-to-ball-a-no ball-deliberately! ;)

Well then that would have been impossible for him to get a ton whereas here it was possible and you got to agree it was one piece of ridiculous sportsmanship. It's not complaining but, a discussion about a real shameful act.

Could still have done it with a 6:p

That doesn't mean to say that this sort of behaviour should be encouraged. How else are you going to prevent this happening in the future if you don't bring this up as an issue ?

Who is encouraging it? Everyone says its a bad piece of sportsmanship.
How will you prevent it by complaining about it on a forum. Write a letter to the MCC and maybe your complaints will be worth something.

I just can't wait to see Randiv bowling to Sehwag in next match.:D don't expect Sehwag to be modest on the pitch

Ollie, I think you're missing the point. OF COURSE it's because he's near a 100, else the bowler wouldn't bother would he ?

He did hit a six, it was not counted.

I think MCC should really take this into consideration. Although, it was another moment which happened, we can't change it so lets face it and let MCC decide what to do with the rule.

In this case you don't even try to bowl a no ball. You just spear it down the leg side, if he connects then fine if he misses it then it doesn't look as bad.

Sri Lanka is no longer our best friend :noway Think West Indies should be our new best friend now. :) Sri Lanka has hurt our feelings :crying

I guess Sehwag wold take RANDIv to the cleaners in the next match:banana2

No, because it happens a lot anyway. I say a lot, it happens in times when that is the match situation. When the team is so clearly going to win and the only thing you are doing is delaying the inevitable then many bowlers have bowled no-balls or wides just go get the game finished.

Do you not understand anything or read all the posts. Ollie said "you wouldn't be complaining if he was on 94" and User said "it wouldn't matter because then he couldn't reach a century" to which I just replied jokingly he could have reached it with a 6. For fearsome tweak sakes read.

I think they did that on purpose... Please BCCI take the hint. No more matches with Lankans for atleast 6 months.. Even Sehwag was bored playing them, thats why he said its fair :p

In that case, well no one cares. Here, you're robbing someone off a well deserved century so this is of more consequence. And I haven't actually seen a bowlers throw a match away , "just to finish it off". This was a clear attempt to deny him a century. Do you at least agree with that ?

It's like saying teams declare a lot, so India should've declared when they were 9 wickets down and denied Murali 800. If that had happened India would rightfully have been condemned right across the board. Granted that this incident is of lesser consequence but nonetheless utterly unneccesary.

It was poor sportsmanship but it happens. Sehwag doesn't seem to care so why should I? I'm supporting India, not Sehwag.
