The Big Announcement 1/9/09

Wow - Amazing work guys I'm really impressed.

A brave decision to go with a new game engine but certainly the right one and it maybe would of been one step back but it's ten steps forward! I like many PC members have been following the progress of this for a few years now and this has certainly raised the bar. I will eagerly be checking your progress over the coming months. So keep up the good work and stay strong. :)
 
Cannot believe no one has mentioned this but the news AbBh has joined the team was the most pleasing aspect of the announcement for me.

I think this will really help speed up development time

Yeah, agree. He has already done some great stuff for us. He's very talented and does any task with apparent ease. Enormous addition to the team.

If I was being hyper-critical I would say that some of the bat angles and finishing positions l look a bit odd...

are there any plans to re-touch the animations later or are they fixed permanently? I think the finishing frames of the shot animation are the most important as they give the lasting impression...BLC99 was very good at this....

But once again.... amazing progress.

The images shown are not necessarily finishing frames - they were taken during random stages of (stroke) animations. This being the case i personally IMHO think they do all look appropriate and do full justice to the strokes. I'll let JK comment though as he's the Animation guy ;)

and addition of Abbh is a real big boost for TAOC. Cant wait for the beta deadline though!!

thats because batting anims are still in dev.
and one that paul has is around 3 months old LOL !!

obviously, i'll be doing all the fixes and finishing once i finalize all the shots.

I'm only doing minor development work as of now. I think LM was being generous when he said that I've done some great stuff. Struggling to find time as of now. LM has been working really hard on making all the old code work with the new engine, and he is the best guy to finish the code he has started writing. I could contribute when something he hasn't already worked on is to be done.
 
hey JK and LM, I have found a good animation guide for you to follow while making a celebration animation when celebrating. It is not too long and it looks simple and I know you can do it easily. Try to make the animation of batsman celebrating his centure like in this video. YouTube - Gilly desktop assistant demo Go to 1:27 and look at it. Looks pretty good. But you can add the part when he takes OFF his helmet.
 
congrats JK and LM,we are all very excited(at least me)

there is one problem,i am unable to open the video(LQ and HQ both),so can someone please upload it on youtube please...
