I wake up very excited to find out this season's teams and go to check my emails. So I check the email and it has my name in the Div 1 u19 team! I am so proud and excited I yell out to my parents and they are very happy for me. I get another email an hour later to meet at the training grounds at 11:00.
So I drive my 1999 Toyota Camry down to training, I am on my learners so my mum has to sit in the passenger seat next to me. So we arrived at Easts Cricket Ground I got out and took the learner stickers off and my mum headed home. I didn't know anyone except my friend John, John Marsh, he is a wicketkeeper and usually bats at No 7. At about 11:15 we headed inside for nets training and I get padded up, bowling to me I have our specialist spinner Mark Thomas and one of our batsmen who bowls medium pace, he would be batting but there's only four nets. My first ball I face Mark he bowls a nice off break but I play a cover drive, then I face John, the medium pacer, he is a specialist batsman so I didn't expect much but he bowled a good ball and I played a nice straight drive that hit the coach but it was rolling.

So we go into the nets and I am told to bowl! I have never really bowled in my life I tell the coach. But he just hands me the ball. I try but the coach tells me I bent my are, so I try and keep my arm straight and it works but the ball makes it in two bounces and the batsman, John, just hits it away for what would have went for four. I keep on practicing but I am not getting my rhythm. So I take a look at Mark, the spinner and I try to spin the ball and I bowl a decent ball but John defended it. So I keep trying spin and I eventually bowled Mark (he had just went in to bat) I was so happy I had actually got a wicket! So we got to the board and our Coach, was putting the names up on the board. 
) Our flight was leaving at 7:00 and I was saying goodbye to my parents and my sister, I was sitting next to John and we were both listening to music on our phones. We arrived at Canberra and headed straight to the ground on a bus. We had a net session that I did well in not losing any wickets. For the rest of the day we went and explored around Canberra, we went to: The Mint, The Australian Institute of sport and The Science centre. 
So I came out to the crease but was not facing because it was the last ball of the over ( Thank God for that) Dan ran a quick single and I was facing I blocked four balls and it was the last ball of the over and I hit it for four! Finally off the mark! I kept a steady S/R of 65 for most off my innings and finished on 49 
I didn't even notice I was on 49 until I saw the scoreboard in the dressing room. We finished our batting innings on 297 with Dan top scoring on 66. Not a great score I thought, we didn't even last the whole day 
It's 6:00 and we get on the bus for day 2 of the game. We get there at half past six and I decide I want to practice bowling just in case I'm needed. 
I bowl a few to James C and he gets an edge! I actually got an opening batsman out! That boosted my confidence to 110%! I get padded up in to my batting gear and have a hit and....I get bowled twice in a row. 
We head out on to the field at 10:00 Canberra are 0/9 and Heddencossel bowls the first over of the day and grabs a wicket maiden a beautiful catch by our captain, John. We all celebrate and Canberra are now 1/9. They end up with a batting collapse, Heddencossel got 6/19, Canberra finished with 127/10.
