Well the openors Left Hander and Burnsy took field confidently. Bollinger and Hilfenhaus opened the attack for Australia A. Both the bowlers bowled some testing line but the Raptor openors were ready for any attack. They looked bit rusty to start with but soon the ball started to find the middle of bat. The pair took some quick singles and also hit some neat boundaries to put 80 runs before lunch and went in unbeaten. The Australia A bowlers were looking attacking but were on shorter side on this pitch where bowling furthur up was required.
After lunch the batsman started to play some good shots but slow nature of the pitch did not helped. Till the time ball was hard they collected runs easily but when the ball got soft the runs came with more effort. Both Left Hander and Burnsy had completed the half centuries and were set for big centuries. The pair once again remained unbeaten when the tea was taken and this time they had added 108 runs to finish at 188 runs.
During tea break the Australian bowlers decided to put pressure on the two batsman nad set some defensive field so that scoring became little bit tough. After just 5 overs Burnsy brought up his century and got huge cheer from the crowd. After completing the century he started to take more risk and put on 20 runs ins no time. Left Hander also reached his century in final session and the pair had put on 250 runs for opening partnership.
A Nofke trapped Left Hander LBW for 108 runs but by then he had done his job and wnet back to pavillion in standing ovation from crowd. Next in Vice Captain Viral batted sensibly till close of play and Raptors ended first day 288/1.
The Australia A players were happy that the day was over as they had long day in the sun. Meanwhile Raptors will be looking to post some quick runs before asking the Australia side to bat on pitch had started to take turns.
