Day 2

day2readydc6.jpg

The first day of the game belonged to Raptor Openors as they both put on 250 for the opening wicket. The wicket had started to break up and Raptors would be looking for some quick runs before they can declare or batting whole day to bat Australia A out of competition.

Burnsy had one eye on the 200 that he was approaching and other on the scoring rate. Even though Raptors had good day they had not scored many runs on first day. The Raptors captain Treva though made bold decision to declare with 352 runs on board. Ashle Nofke finished with 2 wickets to his name.

The Australia A side had good chance to come back into the match with Raptors declaring on 352 runs. They needed solid opening partnership from Phil Jaques and Simon Katich while Raptors opening bowlers were looking for quick wickets to set them back.

The Australian A side had made 257 runs for the loss of 5 wickets at the close of days play with a century from Simon Katich. David Hussey was the only Australia A player who offered any resistance apart from Katich. Mehkar was best bowler for Raptors with a wicket from HP_Fan of Brad Haddin who was looking dangerous.

Day 3

day3ud9.jpg

Well Day 3 started with anticipation for both teams. For Australia A Simon Katich was the not out centurian and Australia A would have liked to get score past 400 with 5 wickets remaining in bag. On the other hand Raptors wanted to take 5 quick wickets.

But Australia A started run chase disasterly with loosing 3 quick wickets in which Simon Katich was run out. This was not the way he wanted his innings to end. But after that Shane Watson and Nathan Hauritz put up brave partnership and took Australia A closer to Raptors score. Shane Watson remained not out on 39.

Raptors used as many as 6 bowlers but pick of the bowlers were Pakistan Army and Harrypotter Fan. Both of them got 2 wickets for themselves and did not even bowled more than 10 overs.

Raptors came out to bat having taken a small lead and needed to bat sensibly because if they collapsed then Australia A had outside chance to win the match. The first innings centurina Burnsy was first man out for 11 and in came Viral. Viral along with Left Hander batted for whole day after that but they were very slow in gathering runs. This means that match is slowly turning towards a draw unless something dramatic happens.

Readers and Players what do you think of Raptors tactics. Were they too defensive in their approach. Please post and also ask your friends to be part of CCPC. Any help is appreciated.

well with just 1 day left it looks like its going to be a draw... but when Treva is the captain u dont know what would happen...

they should go for runs in the first 1 1/2 hr and then try to bowl them out... which looks quite difficult...
