Day 4
Good Morning and the warmest welcome to all the people out there forthe last day's play in this first class match between Green Goblins and India A. This is the deciding day, the result of the match will be clear by the end of the day. Will any of the teams be able to clinch victory or as expected by the majority of the people here that it'll be another draw. The Goblins will resume their batting at the score of 98/1.
The Goblins should declare at some time early if any kind of result is expected. The Goblin batsmen came out to score some quick runs. Briggsey and Tarzan were looking strong out there. Briggsey player brilliantly and went on to complete his century, a brilliant knock by him. With strong support from the other end by Tarzan. Unfortunately Tarzan missed on his century. He'll be sad about it but this is test cricket, if you loose focus for even a second, u loose your wicket. Together Briggsey and Tarzan scored 153 runs and lead their side to a respectable position, but the batsmen coming in after them couldn't hold up long. The India A bowlers kept striking at regular basis and Goblins were 7 down now. The Goblins now had a lead of 211 runs with 39 overs left in the day's play. The Goblin captain now felt that they have a good score to defend and its safe to declare now and try and have a go at the India A batsmen. Is it too late to declare? Will India A score 212 runs in 39 overs or will the Goblin bowlers get the 10 wickets? Will this match have a result or will it be a draw? All the questions get answered as India A comes in to bat right after a short break.
The India A batsmen had a target to reach. 212 runs in 39 overs. It seemed to be possible to reach there but the major factor is the pitch. It has reached Day 4 now. Cracks have developed in it, bowlers have left their foot-marks which helps the spinners. Will India A get there? The India A batsmen had an aggressive mindset towards the score. The batsmen started attacking the new ball bowlers. They tried one shot too many and ended up loosing wickets. S. Dhawan was the first one to go. A. Chopra played very well for his 45 off 51 balls without proper support from the other end. The wickets kept on falling and it was the last recognized pair of batsmen for India A at the crease. India A sensed that if they loose a wicket here, the Goblin bowlers can easily finish them up and win the match. After playing so well so far they wouldn't want to loose the match. The orders were clear, defend the ball, the end of day's play is near. The Goblin bowlers tried their level best to get a wicket here, but India A batsmen were steady and their concentration level was as good as it can be. They kept playing quietly, defending the ball happily and leaving the ones well outside off stump. It was end of over no. 90 and India A could manage to score only 132 for the loss of 6 wickets. The umpire calls it the day.
The spectators aren't too happy for not having a result to this match. But whatsoever both the teams displayed their skills very well. Their temperament was perfect and a draw suggests that both the teams performed equally well. Thats all from this match between India A and Goblins. Tarzan for his superb show of batting skills in both the innings was declared "Man of The Match".
This is your host Aamir taking leave now. Hope you'll join us again for the next match, an OD game between Red Raptors and Blue Brigades.
Good Bye and see you soon.
