Wow, what a thriller. Just four runs made the difference. We bowled well, kept the run rate down and deserved the win :).

England A Vs. India A

Welcome to another FC match of this tournament. ITs India A and England going head to head today. The weather is delightful and its a Hard pitch with a hint of green grass, the ball may swing a bit at the start.

England A won the toss and the captain chose to bat without any hesistation...

The India A bowlers were bang on target throughout the day. They bowled a tight line and England A batsmen had no answer for their accuracy. No batsmen could stay longer at the crease and it resulted in a low first innings score. At the end of the day, England A were bowled out for 263. Denly being the top scorer with his unbeaten 65 runs. Whereas VRV Singh is the pick of bowlers with his 4 wickets...

India A batsmen came on to bat at the start of Day 2 but the way they played, they seem to have no problem. The little bit of green grass was dried off in the sun last day and the pitch had no help for bowlers except some good bounce. The Indian top order responded pretty well. 2 of their top 5 batsmen scored enturies whereas the rest 3 scored their fifties. A Chopra being the top scorer at 162. India A declared at 526-5 exactly double the score of England A. India A lead by 263 runs...

With a mamoth lead ahead, England A had to perform well in their 2nd Innings. The op order played sensibly and both the openers completed their half centuries but unfortunately the middle order couldn't do much. England A were all out for 347 setting a target of mere 85 runs for India A to win.

India A simply had no pressure. They had ample time to score only 85 runs to win whereas England A bowlers will have to try their level best, they can only win by dismissing India A. With a small target ahead India A batsmen tried to blast off and finish it as quickly as possible. But in hurry they kept loosing wickets. With the conventional swing going on, England A bowlers utilised the 4th Day conditions to the maximum but they fell short of runs to defend. They managed to pick up 5 wickets before India A scored the winning runs.

England A fell short of runs. Only if they had managed another 70-100 runs, the result could've been different. But all credit goes to India A for performing well as a team. They out-played England A in all the three departments and ended up victorious. A Chopra for his brilliant knock in first innings was awarded "Man of the Match".

Hello Everybody, I'm here again to accompany you through today's encounter between Red Raptors and Australia A. Its a beautiful Green pitch today, but the weather looks a bit nasty. Its cloud cover over the ground which will help the seam bowlers, we just hope it doesn't rain and we have a full game.

Cricket072008-04-0600-45-40-96.jpg

The Captains are in the middle for the toss. The Raptors captain won the toss and surprisingly chose to bat. Any captain looking at the conditions would've chosen to bowl first. The pitch is green, cloud cover over head. The only reason why he might have chosen to bat is the jinx running in the series that the team batting first wins. Lets see if Raptors can win here and keep the record going or will the Australia A team be successful in breaking the jinx...

Cricket072008-04-0600-48-14-25.jpg

The Raptor openers played sensibly at the start. The new ball was swinging both ways so the Raptor openers decided to play watchfully rather than going for the kill. At the end of powerplays, Raptors could manage only a slow 70 runs off 20 overs. An unlikely start for an OD game.

Cricket072008-04-0600-49-33-46.jpg

The swing has started to become slow and now the Raptors could time the ball very well. They kept on taking singles wherever possible and punishing the bad balls boundaries. Viral played very well for his yet another fifty. All the Raptor batsmen performed well in patches, although none of them could go on to make anything big. A well balanced innings of the Raptor batsmen lead them to a score of 254 at the end of 50 overs. The Australia A bowlers were successful to pick up 9 wickets. This shows the balance in the pitch. The batsmen scored runs moderately and the bowlers were successful in getting wickets. Although the target of 255 runs might look a bit short but on a pitch like this, it is a challenging total.

Welcome back for the start of Australia A innings. All eyes are on the Australia A batsmen, can they manage to achieve the target set by Raptors? Lets see... Unlikely Raptor batsmen, Australia A batsmen were quiet for only a few overs at the start, after that they took the attack to the Raptor bowlers. They smashed them all over the park and fully utilized the Powerplay field set. Australia A scored 93 for the loss of 1 wicket. At this stage they are far ahead of the Raptors total at the same stage.

Cricket072008-04-0600-54-47-51.jpg

The Raptor bowlers bowled pretty well after that. Harrypotter Fan was brilliant again with the ball keeping things very tight. He conceded only 29 runs from his 10 overs and picked 1 wicket whereas Xuzuno was simply brilliant. He kept things quiet and managed to get breakthrough at regular intervals. The Australia A side had no reply for this classy bowling attack. And in the end, Australia A just couldn't manage to reach the target. The Raptor bowlers restricted the Australia A team to a mere 222-9 after the flying start that Australia A got. All the credits to Raptor bowlers for keeping it tight.

Excellent! We batted well considering the pitch, and defended the total nicely. I was pleased with my performence 3/35 :). The Raptors are on a roll now, and I hope it keeps going.

Nice presentation ansariaamir. Just a bit at the top:

The Captains are in the middle for the toss. The Raptors captain won the toss and surprisingly chose to field. Any captain looking at the conditions would've chosen to bowl first. The pitch is green, cloud cover over head. The only reason why he might have chosen to bat is the jinx running in the series that the team batting first wins.

Good game again for Xuzuno. We fast bowlers are enjoying now after T20.
