England A captain won the toss and without any hesitation, chose to bat first. The pitch is hard and England A need to get a good challenging score on the board.
The openers started off well and put up a good opening partnership of 57 runs, when a slight fumble in running cost them their first wicket, in the very same over England A batsmen continued their bad calling and this time the other opener lost his wicket. After that there was no resistance by the England A batsmen what so ever. Apart from T. Ambrose who scored 37 and L. Plunkett who came to the rescue with his 22 runs; no one managed to do anything noticeable. England A were bowled out for 197 in the 42nd over.
India A came in to bat with no pressure whatsoever. They needed to score just 198 runs to win at a run rate of 3.99 at a good batting track. India A openers got to a flying start. Virat Kohli playing sensibly at one end whereas Y Pathan smashed the bowlers all around the ground. The India A openers managed to compile 111 runs for the opening wickets just before Y Pathan was dismissed for a quick 72 off 69 balls. Kohli played strongly at the other end and managed to complete his half century. India A sailed to victory, winning the match by 7 wickets and 2 overs to spare.
For a blistering 72 off 69 balls, Yusuf Pathan was named Man of the Match.
