We should have an CCPC PL thingy. Where we get drafted to 8 different teams with 8 skippers, then those players in each team decide which international stars they want to draft into the team, like each team takes a turn picking!!

Nah. That will spoil CCPC completely.

Good Morning everyone and the warmest welcome to you. I'm your host Aamir and I'll be taking you through this First Class match between Green Goblins and England A. The pitch has some green grass over it which will assist the seamers to seam the ball and the spinners will get a good grip on the surface. The dark cloud cover overhead is the factor that can be of some trouble. Looks like it'll rain at some point in the game but early on it'll help the seam bowlers to swing the ball. In my opinion, win the toss and field first. With the swing going on, if the fast bowlers can put the ball in right areas, there's a good chance to dismiss the opponents cheaply.

The England A captain won the toss but surprisingly chose to Bat. He might have opted to bat just to avoid batting last on this surface. There's a tough job ahead of the England A openers. They shall try and see through the new ball bowlers rather than doing something extra ordinary.

The England A batsmen started off cautiously. The new ball was swinging in the air and off the pitch aswell. The played sensibly and added 46 runs. Just when they were starting to look comfortable Mad Snake struck. He dismissed E. Joyce for 29 runs. That was an important break through for the Goblins, the wicket they were looking for. After the cautious opening partnership there was nothing to see in the England batting. The batsmen came in and went out and their batting order collapsed just like a castle of cards. No one really seemed to be getting in. Some handy contribution by Foster, Throughton, Plunkett and Kabir Ali has seen England reach 126 runs. Goblins were able to restrict England A to a low score courtesy some brilliant bowling by Shubhrayu. Shubhrayu picked up 5 wickets. What a spell of bowling that was!

Goblins came in to bat eyeing the oppurtunity to gain some good lead in first innings after dismissing England A cheaply. But soon they were disappointed. England A bowlers bowled brilliant line and length and got out Shubhrayu on 10, the team total was just 30 runs. It didn't stop there the Captain of Goblins came in next and went back pretty soon. He was dismissed for just 3 runs. Goblins were 5 down for just 87 on the board. Wickets kept on falling but Highlander kept his end well. He was well focused and determined. With some good batting at the other end by Briggsey, both managed to put on a much needed 43 run partnership just before Highlander was run out on the score of 40. After the dismissal of Highlander, Briggsey continued batting well with the tail enders and with some useful contributions from the lower order batsmen like Monty and Cnbd Novice, Goblins managed to score 187 runs with a handy lead of 61 runs. One a pitch like this, even 61 runs can be handy.

After the poor performance in the first innings, England A batsmen had to score some runs if they want to have any chances of winning this game. Goblin bowlers were bang on target early on and managed to dismiss E. Joyce when the score was just 6 runs. Then it was Bopara and Foster who played some useful innings. The played some good shots around the park and put up a good and much needed partnership of 68 runs. Just when things started looking good for England A, they disappointed once again. Soon they were 6 down for just 138 runs on the board. And then the rain came down hard. The England A players must be hoping that it continues raining and the match gets washed out and they'll be saved from the defeat.

But unlucky for them the rain only stopped further play on that day. The rollers dried up the pitch and the ground staff worked really hard to dry up the outfield and get the ground ready for action.

The final day's play has started. Due to the heavy rollers, the moisture on the pitch was gone. The sky was clear and bowlers didn't get the swing that they got in the first innings.

England A was cursing their luck only if they had a good batsman out there, things could've been better. However the lower order batsmen did all they can and managed to drag their total to 200 runs. Setting up a target of 140 runs for the Goblins to win.

With the moisture and cloud cover gone, it wasn't easy for the England A bowlers to defend such a low score. They got some early joy in the form of Shubhrayu who failed to score in this innings as well. FIrst wicket was down at the score of 37 runs. But after that, it was all Goblins. The new ball waas gone, the seam movement was n threat whatsoever. Goblins batsmen were able to hit everything from the middle of the bat. Highlander and Tarzan put up a brilliant partnership of 84 runs. Highlander must have been disappointed to get out on 48. He tried to fancy reverse sweep a full length delivery by J. Lewis, missed the shot completely and ended by watching his stumps flying in all directions. Tarzan on the other end played sensibly and added another fifty to this name. Goblins managed the total with ease and victory for them. GOblins win the match by 8 wickets.

What a game that was. The rain putting up its toll on the results. And another convincing win for the Goblins.

Although he failed with the bat, but a brilliant performance with the ball has assured Shubhrayu the Man of the Match award.

Hello Everyone and Good Afternoon. i'm your host Aamir back with some live action from the Melbourne Cricket Ground. We are here to witness a clash between the two of the best teams in this tournament, Blue Brigades and Green Goblins as they go head to head in this limited over format of the game. I can guarantee you excitement to its best. It'll be interesting to see if Blue Brigades can carry on their winning form and register yet another win here or will the Green Goblins will setup an upset. We will surely find it out as the game progesses. The pitch is hard, no grass on it. The weather is clear. The perfect condition for cricket. What more can you ask for. On such surface it doesn't really matters if you bat first or bowl first, but it surely gonna be a run fest. If you win the toss here, Bat first, get runs on the board and get the upper hand in the game.

Cricket072008-04-2600-44-49-60.jpg

Blue Brigades captain KX won the toss and without hesistation chose to bat first. It'll be interesting to see what score can Blue Brigades put up on here. Will the Brigades win here and KX maintain his 100% win record? Lets wait and watch.

Cricket072008-04-2600-47-01-90.jpg

The experienced duo of KX and Ansariaamir_leo came in to open the batting. They've been opening the innings in One Days ever since and have been scoring runs regularly. As every other match they played together, they started off pretty well. KX was the aggressor whereas Ansariaamir_leo kept nudging singles and made sure that the score board was ticking. This experienced and karizmatic duo of the Blue Brigades put up 122 runs for the opening partnership with some really delightful shots off the meat of the bat and flawless running between the wickets. They understand each other so well that many a times only eye contact was enough to do the calling. Ansariaamir_leo was unlucky to miss out on his half century and was dismissed on 44 by Monty. The first success fro Goblins. Goblins celebrated once again when KX who was playing superbly on 75 was dismissed in the very next over. Both the batsmen are fairly new to the crease. Both played sensibly and Ashwinsancheti and Giggity added up 70 runs for the third wicket. Giggity being the aggressor in this partnership scoring lighting 50 off just 29 balls. That was some entertaining knock. Then came in the most experienced player of the Brigades team. Surendar batted well and remained unbeaten on 53 with a strike rate of just better than run a ball. What an innings was that from the Blue Brigades. Blue Brigades managed to put up 273 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. The highlight of the Blue Brigade batting was their game plan. One batsmen attacked whereas the other held on. Lets see if Goblins can match up the Brigades performance and chase down the target.

Goblins came out to bat with a target of 274 runs to win. The target is not a mamoth one and can be chased down if played sensibly and well planned. The Goblins openers provided just what their team needed. A good opening partnership. But it was disappointing that they consumed so many balls to that. With a big total to chase down, the required run rates was every increasing like commodity prices. Green Goblins batsmen never looked like keeping up to it. With the urgency to up the tempo, Highlander tried hitting some shots but unfortunately ended up loosing his wicket. And soon after his fall, the other opener Shubhrayu fell. Tarzan too couldn't trouble the scorers much. He was dismissed cheaply for 8 runs. Goblins were in deep trouble at 90-3. Monty and Gamerkid tried keeping the hopes alive. Together they put on 47 runs, keeping Goblins in the hunt. But the Goblins tumble again. Both of them fell in quick time, one after the other. The lower order batsmen hoever tried their level best, but couldn't just manage the runs at the pace required. The Goblins managed to bat through the quota of 50 overs but just couldn't get near the target. They could only manage 238 runs with the loss of 9 wickets in reply to Blue Brigades' 273. Another convincing win for the Blue Brigades here.

After getting a brilliant victory over England A, we fell very short to win again. Brigades played well and defended the target.

After all our team has played briliantly. Shubhrayu is getting matured and bowlers are now back into the form. We need to stick with the victory, nothing else.

Come on Goblins.....

ccpc going on very good ...and also tarzan ...in this match tarzan performaction is not so good but he is good plyer...

dam a loss we were in such good form but how about shubhrayu what great form hes in!!

That Kit looks awesome.

Toam and Subharu were tied down in opening and that spelt doom for them. I was mad at Bilal in dinner break and he certainly responded with good bowling after some poor slow Dravid like batting.
