RULES OF ENGAGEMENT: THE CONTINENTAL CODE

​

Order. Discipline. Consequence.​

Player Tiers:
Platinum (Tier 5) > Diamond (Tier 4) > Gold (Tier 3) > Silver (Tier 2) > Bronze (Tier 1)

Squad Rules:
15 to 18 player squad.
No more than 10 Diamond + Platinum players in a squad.
Ensure at least 15 contracted players before each game. Fall below? The Bowery King will send help.

Budget & Contracts:
Each Team starts with 450 Coins.
Player cost per game equals his Tier rating.
All Contracts are Prepaid and coins will not be refunded.
It doesn't matter if a players plays a game or not. Contract will still run.
Pay upfront for 1 - 5 games (e.g., Tier 5 player for 3 games = 15 coins).
Up-to 75 (including prize-money) remaining in budget can carryover to next season.

Termination:
Terminate a player's contract at any time by paying 1 .
Terminated player will drop off the squad and will go to Exile for 1 game before re-entering The Player Pool and later may appear in a team's Unique Pool.

Retention:
At contract’s end you may re-sign a player with a new contract + retention fee (equals Tier number).
Example: A 5-Tier player signed for 3 games initially costs 15 coins. To re-sign them for 2 more games. New cost = (5 × 2) + 5 (Retention Fee) = 15 coins
Not retaining? Player is Exiled for 1 game before re-entering the player pool.

Match Rewards & Penalties:
Win Reward: +3 per match. (Paid immediately after the win).
Semi Finalist Reward: +25 (4 Teams)
Runners-up Reward: +20
Champion's Reward: +25 + Champion's Marker (a one-time, consequence-free loan from The High Table).
Death Marker: Bottom 2 teams start next season with 5 fewer .

Exile:
A player who is frozen. Cannot play any games or sign a contract until he remains Exiled.
If he is in a contract, he will stay until the contract ends or he is Terminated.
If he is Exiled after the end of a contract he will not be available to sign a new contract until his Exile ends.​

Before the league begins, you’ll receive 30 players from the Players Pool in your Unique Pool.
After each game, your pool reshuffles to 9 or 10 players, randomly selected from available mercenaries.
Players not signed remain in the Players Pool and may appear in another team’s Unique Pool later.
Exile players will not appear in Unique Pools.
Once an Exile player is back in the Players Pool, they may appear in any team’s Unique Pool.​

Pitch Types:

Spoiler: Pitch Types

Damp/Sticky - Massively in favor of bowlers and an absolute nightmare to bat on, unless you're Victor Trumper.
Dusty - Plenty of turn on offer for spinners and a good place to bat for spin-savvy batsmen. Good pace bowlers are still likely to thrive.
Even - Provides an evenly balanced contest for all disciplines of the game.
Flat - A batsman-friendly pitch which provides little or no assistance to bowlers. Expect big totals.
Green - A lot of movement on offer early on, making it ideal for fast bowlers. Batting expected to become easier as the match progresses.
Hard - Ideal conditions for batting. Good deal of bounce on offer for fast bowlers as well. Could go either way.
Dry/Slow - Ideal for slow and spin bowlers as the name suggests. Sometimes quite difficult to bat on.
Poor - Uneven bounce and a huge amount of turn on offer for spinners. Expect a slow hard grind for very few runs.

Blood Oath Match: Losing teams forfeit 5 or Exile a player of their choice for 2 games.
Both edicts will trigger separately and randomly before a game. Teams are warned.

Hunt or Hurt:
Exile a player for 2 games.
50% chance: They return with coins equal to their tier (e.g., Silver = 2 coins).
50% chance: They return Cursed (-50% rating) for 1 game. They bring no coin.
A cursed player cannot be sent on a hunt again until healed.

Baba Yaga’s Reckoning:
A Bronze (Tier 1) player scoring a century or taking 5 wickets becomes a Tier 3 player permanently.
No extra cost for their current contract. Post-contract, they command Tier 3 wages.

Ruska Roma Ritual:
Sacrifice 2 players (with ≥3 games left on contracts) to Exile them for 3 games. They go back to Players Pool after their Exile ends.
Boost one target player’s rating by +50% for 1 game.

Excommunicado’s Return:
Sign John Wick ( Tier 5) for 1 game at 5 coins.
He can randomly appear in any team's Unique Pool.
He bats like the best batter and bowls like the best fast bowler in the league. Cannot keep the wickets.
After the match, he is Exiled for 1 game.​

Bowery King's Minions
If you run out of budget or have fewer than 15 contracted players (for whatever reason), the Bowery King will give a helping hand.
He sends Tier 0 Minions (slow all-rounders, they can keep also) to fill your squad (until minimum of 15 squad size is reached).
They cannot participate in any Additional Things (activities).
They cannot be Exiled by you. Only by The High Table.
They are contracted perpetually until the season ends.
A minion's contract can be terminated any time without paying any fee. ​
