Just an alert message from Story Mod team,

" You have reached your limit of maximum stories. Actually,

India's Road to the World Cup 2011
India's International Diary
Current story thread

should have been merged and closed as per the rules. I am allowing it because, both the stories i.e. India stories were started before the new rules. But with this story, the count has reached beyond it's limit & hence anymore new story thread, if started, the writer has to face the consequences mentioned in the rules. The rules are common for all.

Chapter 3: The Journey Begins

Well I know you all want to know more about me, here it is. It was almost two years ago when my journey towards fulfilling my dream started. I had great love towards the game of cricket ever since I started watching it at the age of five. I started playing cricket with my friends in my complex since, and as I went to the 7th standard I was able to represent my school at the district level. I won many trophies with school during the three years I played them and I was told by my coach that I could make it to big stage because I had the talent but it needed to be polished. As I went to higher standard, I found it very difficult to do both studies and play cricket at the same. Due to my important year and the board exams approaching, I had to miss my under-17 state level selections and this always kept hurting me after the exams were over.

But as there is a saying "Every black cloud has a silver lining", I got a second chance to pursue my career in cricket when my school coach Mr Girish Surve, approached me saying that Aarey Cricket Club would like me to play for them for the upcoming Maidan Cricket Season. I was very excited about the offer and took this offer to my parents. But I was shattered to pieces with the response I got from my parents. They told me to stop dreaming of playing for India as there was no chance. After some long conversations between my parents and me on this topic for the next few days, they finally agreed to allow me to play for the Aarey Sports Club on a promise that I would always place studies higher than cricket. I accepted and promised them, without thinking about it in detail because I couldn't wait to remove the frustration of missing my state level selections on my opponents during the tournament.

The next day I called up Mr Ravi Savant who is the chairman of the cricket club and he told me to be present at 9am sharp on Monday next week for the first training session of the new maidan season. I was way excited for two reasons, one of course I was going to play cricket very soon after almost one years' gap and the second reason was that I had taken admission in a reputed college in Thane which was known for its achievements in sports. Taking admission in my town itself meant that I would be wasting really less time and money in travelling and I would get more time to play cricket and also concentrate on studies. That day I was very happy, and I couldn't sleep the whole night as I was very excited about my first training session of my new club which was in a couple of days time.
