I was wondering what you are doing to keep the progress and flow of the career. I can see you have used multiple games in your story and with each new game, it would have to be start afresh however, this is a story and it needs to have certain track of progress of the subject (read Suren Ram). Did you try playing a few matches in DBC14 without updating them in the story so your player can catch up in game with the storyline? He should be over 20 by now with a lot of experience having played all this matches throughout the story.

I haven't been following this great story but I'd love to say one thing, Suren Ram could have made it to India if he was a seamer. :p

Unfortunately, he does not bat at #9 or #10 :lol .

Thank you everyone for the feedback and views, very much appreciated for coming forward with those greatest interest that every reader has shown in this. It helps me a lot! Have played the game for next update, will put it up when I am done with the updates. :)

These were my exact thoughts when I switched to DBC14 from previous sims. Have used CKT2002, 04, 07, IC2010(with PCCS sim) and DBC14 so far for this story. Basically, I have been using them whichever allowed me to edit the rosters easily suiting the story needs. Indian domestic roster is something which we have lacked before as a game-mod & I just played with custom editing options.

Stats wise, I am maintaining the match scores of every match that he has played in an excel. Would put it up in statistical format when the correct time(context in story) comes. With DBC career, it would be easy for me to maintain the county stats through the game itself. So far, TN FC stats - U19 stats - Eng/Aus county stats are the three categories which they fall under.

Age wise, he is still in his first year. Fortunately, the dates which I write for every chapter is incremented as per the context of this story( not the current date ). :D

  1. Suren Ram's first day dream - Date :- April 15, 2009
  2. Current Match Date - August 30, 2009

He is still young with 5 months experience roughly, you know. :)

Chapter 38
Aus FC Shield : Western Warriors Vs SA Redbacks, Match 3

September 8, 2009
Time - 04: 00 PM

So after a fresh milestone, I felt a different world revolving around me. Not sure whether it was a moment of confidence or a moment of spark in my career, but I felt so fortunate and thankful for having to reach my first county ton on Australian conditions. Kept seeing my facebook every now & then to see for my wishes from my state coach or from my state team mates but didn't want to get carried away in emotional feelings as my primary focus is to enhance myself and get better every match.

'Make sure you SPEND TIME @ BATTING CREASE' - Haunted ME!

"...Your biggest mistake at this time is your temper...", Klinger to me.

Before my match day, I packed my kit and stepped into early morning practice nets which was an indoor facility near the stadium. With my skipper practicing at the same time in front of my coach, I gave a big smile and handshake to them before stepping into the practice session.

"Wanted to clearly mention that I have mentioned to my boys many times - Do not get carried away whenever you reach the milestone, we need to make sure that we keep our focus utmost and give our best in every innings. As much as I enjoyed your innings like many other people at the stadium in our previous match, I also felt several areas of improvements that could potentially turn as obstacle some time down the lane. You biggest strength is your confidence which is very good, but your biggest weakness is your temper that is controlled by your over confidence. It is not good, as bowlers would definitely work you out and get you as their bunny if you don't correct it yourself. It is easy, just fix your temper to spend long time at the crease and have a complete control of your decision in when to go after a bowler & when not to! That's it, very simple isn't it? ;) ", my coach said these to me. This reminded me of Raman who worked closely with me to correct my mistakes and I started missing those moments suddenly. Damn, I am still waiting for their facebook message!

I resumed my practice session, both my skipper and coach set a target to not to miss 60 consecutive deliveries and asked me to mentally prepare for it. But I managed to hit only 41 deliveries out of 60 deliveries faced in practice session. It is not too bad but is not too good either, seemed very average to me but both of them just patted my shoulders and asked me to not give up very easily!

"Like our coach said, your biggest mistake is your temper & FIX IT! You need it for any long & well constructed innings!", Klinger said to me.

So the match time came & we were asked to bat first by Warriors team. As usual, our top order under Klinger were very solid that they made me to sit on the bench for first 170+ runs. I was warming up so eagerly that I wanted to execute my strategy better this time. As soon as I joined Heads, he also passed me a message of not to hurry at any cost, but their pacers were so aggressive that I had a very nervous start to my innings. I fixed my mind to spend and enjoy the batting atmosphere as much as I can, managed to keep the scorecard moving despite those shaky starting moments.

My Natural Temper Vs My New Strategy - CONFLICTS!!!

...Geeezzz, couldn't CONTROL myself...

Though Head departed shortly after I arrived at the batting crease, Ferguson and me started to build a solid partnership for the fourth wicket. It was when I was surprised to see my score of 21 runs from 28 balls, that was comparatively slow from my way of playing the innings, I started to dominate the bowlers without realizing it.

Not sure on what changed my strategy but I started to hit hard & harder every ball after this moment and made a rapid march to my first FC FIFTY that made me to enjoy the moment rather than thinking of my strategy. Ferguson gave a strong pat on my shoulders and said, 'Well done!' but it never made me to go back to my initial strategy of being very cautious and spend more time at the crease. Good or bad, I didn't think about it and just continued my natural way of attacking the bowlers.

Cheap Dismissal, ONCE AGAIN!

IMG_5785.jpg

.... GOSH! MY BAD! ....

After my 50, I went even more CRAZY! I knew that fielders were near the boundary rope, but I kept challenging myself to beat those fielders near the boundary. YES! I started hitting the deliveries towards the fielders but high enough to get some SIXES! I enjoyed doing this, but it did not last long.

In one of the deliveries, I went lazily after the bowler and completely messed it up and missed the ball to go towards my stumps. YES, was clean BOWLED! Once again, I started to feeling regretful for such a cheap dismissal but there is nothing much that I can do at that moment. Got addicted to attacking the bowling, I should say! Just quietly went back to dressing room, my coach and skipper gave a sarcastic smile at me as they know that I could have done much better than this.

I was dismissed for 82 runs from 60 balls.:mad

Scorecard & Match Summary

*** Towards End of Day 3, My Second Innings - Here I COME! ***

Afte my dismissal, Botha continued the momentum to take our team to a rock solid score, but their batsman responded equally well though they did not go past our score. We went into bat for the second innings and once again, as usual, our top order started off solid. It was 130+ runs, we lost our second wicket - Means, it's time for ME to go for ONE MORE TIME!

Yes, with roughly around an hour and some minutes for the Day 3 to end, it was not the good time that I want to go and spend some time at the crease. Though there wasn't any team pressure to build some respectable lead, I was in pressure because of my own self as I wanted to prove that I can bat in a FC match with good temper! With so much of thoughts, I took my bat and stepped into the ground for my second chance...

Is Suren Ram really capable of changing himself according to the situation needs? Or, like his usual way of hitting and getting out, he would come back to pavilion even before the DAY ENDS? Stay Tuned to find out more!

I believe that you should be able to score more than a fifty after two great innings from the 19 year old.

Option B. I do not believe one can have this long a purple patch and yet not get a confirmed berth in the junior/league team(s). It is high time for your player to go through some lows.

Brilliant innings, playing in your natural style helped you here,i am expecting you to face 51-75 deliveries .The content's & presentations in this update were excellent bro.:cheers

Options D. With the current form, I wouldn't mind saying more than 100 but you know liberation. :p
