The Golf Thread

Wow +2 is very good. What is the Par and SS at your course and how long is it? We have the longest back nine in Europe, so it can easily wreck a good halfway score if you aren't careful

bumpety bump.

I have developed into a pretty good golfer now, good at doing a few trick shots and stuff, I can "happy gilmour" it which was my aim when taking up golf. Anyway for all you people who are good, what is the best massive smack it 400 yards driver out there?

It's amazing how much flex Tiger's got in his down swing, the triangle Tiger leads up to the shot is almost perfect when he goes down on the swing creating alot of swing speed down on the ball. It's virtually impossible copying Tiger's swing.

If anyone says the R7, I'll smack them over the head with my sand wedge

I was talking to my pro and he was saying this looks to be pretty nice but is quite expensive:

Tha looks nice, at the minute I should be trying to get it straight rather than looking to hit it miles but oh well :p Weird looking club though, my dad bought a taylor made burner the other day which goes miles but he makes me stop him from using it because on every hole he has no idea where it's going just that it will end up a long way in front of him.

Well we have this stupid machine which goes off your last 3 cards, now I'm in top form atm so it's 14 which is ridiculously low because I just don't play enough to be that good, I'm probably around 18 or 19 just had a few good games.

Alright. Then probably the R7 would suit you as it is pretty forgiving and still has a nice amount of power behind it. On of the youngsters I help coach was of 23. I recommended the R7 and he now gets an extra 25-50 yards and his handicap is now 15

Does look nice, wil save up the pennys now then. Meant to be playing tomorrow, not sure ifmy dad will bother though especially as I'm ment to be revising. Went and had a few shots in the garden tonight and just ended up cutting it up which isn't good. Smacked a ball into next doors window but it's only a foam practice ball thank god lol.

LOL. Best think to do is practice which is what you are doing. The key think to improve is your short game as everyone loves creaming the driver up the range but it is sinking those 20 footers and chipping to five feet which make your handicap come flying down

Well I'm a putting god, all the years of mini golf paid off and I can drive long and straight, my only problems are when I use irons I have no idea about which one to use or any concept of how far I'll hit it with a different one. That and I occassionally get laid back and top the ball so then I get really frustrated and just smack the crap out of it making things go even more wrong.

My short game is good though because whenever I'm at home watching tv I'm putting into my little machine and chipping into cups all the time :p

Well then the key for you is to learn your distances. Go to the range, and hit 10-20 balls with each club, and do this for a few days and you'll soon begin to judge your shots much better. These days I rarely even need to check the yardage I can just look at the distance and tell straight away what club I will need to use

Posted via Mobile Device us open is on now. Tiger was a bit rusty but you can expect that when you have not played for 2 months. Good to see some aussies up there. Im hoping to catch some of this. I havent watched a major tournament like this before.

Tiger won't win after an injury. I think it might be Mickelson even though I don't like him that much, fat yank and all his fans just go woop woop brapp ting it's in da hole.

Hoping Luke Donald wins though. Or Vijay.

Love playing golf. Never bothered to become good at it, just enjoy whacking a few balls with a few mates of a similar standard. Unbelievably boring to watch though.
