Woah, What a fantastic game!!!
Would have loved to see this! Great Presentation, although I think you edited the scorecards, cause it does seem something is not right about them?

Auckland Aces v Canterbury Wizards
Aces crush feeble Wizards

In the HRV Cup's first international outing, the honorary home side, the Auckland Aces, won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a steady start, Wizards bowlers Bond and Taylor keeping the scoring rate down to below 6 an over for the first 4 overs. However just as the Aces looked to up the run rate Young fell to Bond, and Vincent chipped one back to off spinner Rob Nicol to leave the Aces in a bit of trouble at 25/2. However, the reasonably large crowd of around 5,000 who had probably turned out generally to see local boy Ravi Bopara play would have been feeling fairly secure seeing him walk out to bat- and not for the first time at Chelmsford, he didn't disappoint.
He and Guptill simply took apart the Canterbury bowlers- Guptill in particular faced a lot of the bowling and hit several straight sixes off both spinner Rob Nicol and pace bowlers Bennett and Hiini. He eventually was caught on the boundary for 61, but Bopara and Styris contiued the onslaught, seeing the Aces to 175/3.

Bopara didn't disappoint his home fans

In reply the Wizards also could score at no more than a run a ball, and it was this pressure that got to them, Nicol out trying a swipe across the line, and Papps caught at mid wicket by Styris. Myburgh showed application and skill in moving crisply to 21 and looked set to go on but was cleverly caught at short cover off Styris, which set off a roll of wickets- Styris was the destroyer, bowling smartly to dismiss the Wizards' captain Peter Fulton for a first baller, overseas player Jerome Taylor and tailender Hiini. His wickets put the result beyond doubt, with left arm spinner Hira and Tuffey also picking up two wickets apiece. Veteran Chris Harris was immovable and showed how flat the wicket was against a bowling attack that had no genuinely quick or world class bowlers. The Aces could be pretty happy with the way they played, although they weren't really tested by a Wizards' side who will be disappointed to start off in this fashion once more.

Great work from Guptill, Bopara, and Scotty to get us over the line with a very easy win first up.
I'm hoping Colin will get a bat next match, as I want to see how he's progressed since now in real life to a year down the track.
TBH I wouldn't have Young opening.
I'd go with Vincent, Guptill, Bopara, Styris, Hopkins, Young, de Grandhomme, then the four bowlers.
Great update again, keep it up.

Guptill and Bopara were great with the bat, just pwned the bowlers and the Ace bowlers ripped through the Wizards, great update

Guptill and Bopara played superbly, losing early wickets didnt really help, but they paced their innings to perfection. Although the main man is Styris, played a cameo in the end and bowled very well

kitchen played pretty well at six though. great update, nice to see styris in the action hopefully he ends up as the highest wicket taker and highest run scorer :D
