Gajan T holds on as Australia struggle early
Australia have struggled early here at the Adelaide Oval. Its the first session of the second test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and already Australia are looking shaky. Gajan T and skrillex_x started slowly but steadily to start off the day, before RDF got the breakthrough to get skrillex_x caught behind by rahulkhush, for just 6 off 17 balls. It was the key wicket for India, and no doubt they`ll be very satisfied after they got skrillex_x out cheaply.
In came mattfb, the Australian captain since Madhur is injured. He scored a fantastic four through the covers in just his first ball ; who needs to get settled hey? But mattfb wasnt going to last long, looking very shakily after that. Eventually he got out plumb lbw to RDF once again, giving RDF his second wicket of the day in just the first session. Mattfb only managed to make 7 off 17 balls, not a great innings by the captain, who needed to inspire his side with a captain`s knock.
On the other hand, Gajan T was going very solidly for the Australians. WORLD_CHAMPIONS was the new batsman at the crease, and struggled early, edging a four through the slip cordon on just his first ball. He hit another four, this time a more convincing one, through midwicket 2 balls after that, but no luck for him as he was bowled for just 10 off 12 balls by bladescape, giving bladescape his first wicket of the day, and the third overall for the Indians.
The Western Australian captain cricket22 was in, and looked strong, scoring steadily, and it finally looked like Australia were going to forge a partnership between cricket22 and Gajan T. They manage to bat through the entire session, with cricket22 on 25 off 57 balls not out, and Gajan T on 39 not out off 99 balls. Its been a shaky session for Australia, and they will look to stamp their authority in the lunch session, with cricket22 and Gajan T batting well at the crease.
