Well, as long as KP admits he was wrong and makes himself available for all the games in the formats that he wishes to play, (i.e. every Test series) then I'm more than happy to welcome him back into the side. Hopefully this episode has made him realise that he's not undroppable and we will move on if he steps out of line.

Yeah I am with you on this one. The whole affair just shows what a ridiculous gentlemans club the ECB is. Could have been wrapped up in private no problem. Sure KP didnt handle things too well either but that was because there was no true leadership anywhere to be found.

I expect he'll have to wear a tag around his ankle once rehabilitated and will not be allowed to use a mobile phone unless he gets permission from his parole officer. I suspect he will have a curfew inflicted on him as well. Just in case.

The ECB contract system is very rigid, mainly refer to those on full contracts instead of the incremental ones. If an England player wants to play in the IPL, the rules of the contract means no compromise could even be made to play in that tournament, once England have a series going on.

IPL franchises know this, thats why they don't buy English players.

IPL in its current format should be scrapped, but its unfortunately around now and the best England players should be allowed more flexibility to play in that tournament as thing stand. The performance of the team in the T20 world-cup highlights the need for this clearly.

My sources tell me that he's still in quarantine for a few more weeks/months. He seems quite comfortable in isolation. When asked how he's dealing with things, he responded that it was no worse than what Swanny and the boys used to do. He kept referring to himself in the third person though, but it's probably just a side effect of the medication.

KP thought that he would make his way soon despite his faults because of his good batting and the way he win matches single-handedly. This did not happen and he had to issue a public apology.
