The Reintegration Thread

Because he is confident, arrogant and ridiculously good, which in all forms of life breed jealousy,

I asked why South Africans hate him. Not why gay men want to date him.

But in many he left due to the fact that SA will not winning any cricket world cup ever as we are not allowed to field our best eleven

Well, as long as KP admits he was wrong and makes himself available for all the games in the formats that he wishes to play, (i.e. every Test series) then I'm more than happy to welcome him back into the side. Hopefully this episode has made him realise that he's not undroppable and we will move on if he steps out of line.

I always thought your avatar was supposed to be ironic, not quite so sure now.

How many bloody times does he have to apologize? The people who should be grovelling are the senior management at the ECB for their diabolical handling of the affair.

Are you reffering to that you guys lost cause you did not have KP? Yeah it is a pissy excuse after getting pummeled 2 - 0 in your own back yard.....

Sorry when did I once say we lost because of KP not playing? :facepalm

You lot beat us fair and square, and frankly I couldn't give a rats ass about it, the best team won,

You are the one needing a nappy change coz you can't take not winning anything of any real importance

Yeah I am with you on this one. The whole affair just shows what a ridiculous gentlemans club the ECB is. Could have been wrapped up in private no problem. Sure KP didnt handle things too well either but that was because there was no true leadership anywhere to be found.

Can wait to see KP back in action. Hope he is still in form, looked really out of place in the studios

Will he be touring India this Winter? I know he didn't make the squad, but my question is has he been reinstated?

Has to be reintegrated whatever that means. I imagine it involves cleaning the ECB's board members gardens of rocks whilst sleeping in a small, self contained room for the rest of the time.

I expect he'll have to wear a tag around his ankle once rehabilitated and will not be allowed to use a mobile phone unless he gets permission from his parole officer. I suspect he will have a curfew inflicted on him as well. Just in case.

England Cricket Features: Being tough on Kevin Pietersen | ESPN Cricinfo

Ignoring everything else, as David Hoops stated in the above cricinfo article on the matter, the bolded portion of quote is the essential issue of the matter:

QUOTE said:
He is also available for England for all forms of the game, his ambitions to play the whole of IPL abandoned, and if he vacillates again over where his priorities lie, his new contract will give him little room for manoeuvre. The ECB will congratulate itself that it has quelled a rebellion. But resisting the IPL in the medium term is unsustainable and they know it. If there is no accommodation with India, other stand-offs will follow.

The ECB contract system is very rigid, mainly refer to those on full contracts instead of the incremental ones. If an England player wants to play in the IPL, the rules of the contract means no compromise could even be made to play in that tournament, once England have a series going on.

IPL franchises know this, thats why they don't buy English players.

IPL in its current format should be scrapped, but its unfortunately around now and the best England players should be allowed more flexibility to play in that tournament as thing stand. The performance of the team in the T20 world-cup highlights the need for this clearly.

My sources tell me that he's still in quarantine for a few more weeks/months. He seems quite comfortable in isolation. When asked how he's dealing with things, he responded that it was no worse than what Swanny and the boys used to do. He kept referring to himself in the third person though, but it's probably just a side effect of the medication.

KP thought that he would make his way soon despite his faults because of his good batting and the way he win matches single-handedly. This did not happen and he had to issue a public apology.

Still, good to see him back. What a wonderful player he his.
