The Reintegration Thread

Swann has an article behind a paywall on the sun website.

So that probably tells me everything I need to know about his rebuttal.

Summary appears to be "it's not bullying, it's just the way it is" which is kind of a classic bully response. Aggressively dismiss the claim and then tell the person to toughen up.

2014 will go down as monumental year in the history of the ECB. They conspired to end the career of KP, England's only player on the modern era who would be close to an all-time England XI, while selling out the rest of world cricket to increase its bank account's, joining the BCCI & CA in most retrograde step the International Cricket Council revamp, that the sport has ever known.

Still cant get my head around two things in that dossier - calling the media "scandal voracious press" and the Piers Morgan incident. It is pathetic to the point of hilarity

So Broad was on the the "younger" players out that night in Adelaide according the ECB. ECB just ****ing give up. Can the UK government step in and fire the entire ECB now please!!!

pathetic that the ECB have in "dossier" comment from KP about his knee playing up if they go 3-0 down, even though he did fight on, while the coward swann cut and run and they don't care...

this article by Ed Smith is one of the best things i've read on the issue. Ed Smith: A genius of self-belief and desire | Cricinfo Magazine | ESPN Cricinfo

will quote this incase people don't want to read the whole article (but you really should) - a story about Greg Blewett and the other Kent players discussing KP, before he'd got in the England side:

Two years later, we were again talking about Pietersen in the Kent dressing room - he was always talked about a lot - and Greg Blewett, the Australian Test player and our overseas pro, a very fair guy with an excellent cricket brain, just said casually, "He's the best one-day finisher I've ever played with." We carried on chatting. Hang on a minute, let's go back a step, Greg. You've played with Michael Bevan, Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, two Waughs and all the rest, and you're saying that a guy who hasn't played even one international match is the best? Thoughtful pause: "Yeah."

It's difficult to see how the ECB can come out of this even looking sane, let alone competent.

Yeah I'm not a fan of Aussie sledgers either, but they at least know who to sledge.
