The Reintegration Thread

I'd prefer for us to carry on as we are now. Not worth the hassle, side effects and problems of attempting to reintegrate him into what is now getting a fairly set lineup.

Would have thought he'd prefer to play for a division 1 county to make his point.

ENG batting line-up is by no means settled, as the IND poster just mentioned, India's listless bowling and general test effort masked the problems. There is much reason to believe the test team has similar issues to the ODI/T20 set-up and next proper test team we face (NZ) can seriously open a can of worms.

Just a thought: Does anyone else see any eerie similarities between ECB-KP and BBC-Jeremy Clarkson episode :spy

Both ECB and BBC unable to handle a couple of boisterous yet superstar individuals, leading to their own detriment. One loses its zing and the best batsman of the generation. The other fuks up their highest grossing TV show :cheers

the longer they keep him out, the less sense it will make to bring him back. he's 34. i hope common sense will prevail. this whole episode has been so poorly handled.

I can easily see him playing for WCt20 at the very least the format were he is least special but will be more important for eng in that format. If things go well [while this may mean eng doing badly in short term, but in long term it will be great for them not just because KP will get back but because they will be able to truly start fresh with a clean state of most of the management staff] hope to see him in coming ashes against aus this is were he can be special as a player being able to turn test matches in a couple of session!

I've seen it as an FA/John Terry thing in the past. If KP had done what Clarkson did I think he's have fewer supporters. If the ECB dossier had presented evidence that he had physically and verbally abused someone but no, he stared out of a window.

Openers are a disaster though. Trott could open with Cook although if England lose in WI and Cook scores poorly again he could go too.

Surely only a matter of time now that he's moved to one of the few grounds that the selectors seem to know the way too.

I don't think Pietersen will play test cricket again unless we go 2-0 down in the ashes, and either Ballance or Bell are having a shocker. He couldn't replace one of the openers and Root has got a lot of credit in the bank. The number 6 slot will have to go to an all rounder like Stokes or Ali to give the side balance.

I think it is reasonable for him to get his t20 place back though, as there's a WC not too far away, and he knows conditions out there very well. If he thinks he can play a 50 over WC at the age of 38, then there's no reason why he couldn't regain his ODI place also.
