Draft: The Toss Draft

Staying Player List
@Aislabie - :pak: :bat: Wajahatullah Wasti

The name you can't pronounce, with the batting you might forget. One of a lot of fun nominations for the rest of the draft. Strap in.

@pillowprocter - :aus: :bat: Charles Bannerman
1705361763122.png
WG Grace might be considered cricket's first superstar, but Bannerman beat him to pretty much everything. First ball faced, first runs, first hundred, and he also can bat time and score big percentages on tough wickets - given this draft format, especially useful.

@ddrap14 - :aus: :ar: Shane Lee
1705361840026.png
Brett Lee's slower brother, Shane was a medium pacer but also more of an allrounder. A player I was exposed to in my Cricket Captain save (check it on the discord - I'll be running more soon)

@Supreme General - :eng: :bwl: Richard Illingworth
1705361926343.png
A left arm spinner who could bat a bit, Supreme fulfilled two of his requirements in this pick - I think he was the only person to remember that 90s England lost a world cup final. Now more known as a properly good umpire.

@Verified Enigma - :aus: :bwl: Rex Sellers
1705362044099.png
Another spinner more known for his post-playing career, this time as an administrator. One of two players who should have debuted in his only Test match; the other, a fine first-class batsman named Jack Potter, broke his skull in Holland on the return trip and never got back into the team.

@Till Valhalla - :pak: :bat: Ahmed Shehzad
1705362185683.png
A solid Test player with character concerns, which could describe two Pakistani picks already, Shehzad is now seen almost exclusively in Pakistan domestic cricket. Fun fact - his Test and FC averages are the exact same (40.91).

Swapping List
@icyman (via Disharies) - :ind: :bat: Rohit Sharma
1705364346188.png
Rohit might be in rough form right now, but he's still a big win in this format. It's rare to get such a good player.

@Viper. (via CerealKiller) - :pak: :bwl: Waqar Younis
1705364435996.png
Usually. Free fast bowler for Viper.

@Disharies (via Yash) - :aus: :ar: Theo Doropoulos
1705364565229.png
Less of a success for Disharies than for everyone else here. Doropoulos was a distinctly average cricketer in his day, although he does a pretty good job nowadays as a SA/WA boundary reporter for both cricket and AFL.

@CerealKiller (via Viper) - :aus: :ar: Michael Neser
1705364669499.png
This isn't as big of a downgrade as it might seem on the surface. Sure, Waqar is Waqar, but Michael Neser is the best domestic cricketer in the world - in the wrong era unfortunately to be an Australia legend, but certainly an absolutely brilliant player.

@Yash. (via Icyman) - :eng: :bat: Michael Atherton
1705364845273.png
The doughty opener led England through one of its worst eras, which was more of an indictment on some of the selections than it was on his part.

Thank God Theo didn’t come back to me.

Happy with Atherton.

Not to forget that he opened the batting with Davey Warner, and his coach said, "One of them is gonna be a legend one day". He thought, "Hard luck to Warner"

Just casually gave me waqar. thanks
