West Ham winning fight against relegation

West Ham united are starting to win there long lasting battle against relegation after securing 8 points from the past 5 games with 2 wins and 2 draws after beating Bolton 1-0 at home thanks to a Bellamy 27th minute strike. Bolton controlled the match enjoying 52% of the ball and taking 16 shots to West Hams 7 but the solid defence of the Hammers kept Bolton out. It was a welcomed win which put the Hammers up to 14th position after a dire run of form which saw West Ham go along time without a win after they bombed a few games by conceding in the final minutes.

It's been tough going at Upton park with the manager Matt Coll under constant pressure to perform, and whilst the results haven't always been convincing the truth is the Hammers have been getting enough points to stay above the relegation zone. There is still no breathing space for West Ham though who sit 14th on 24 points after 22 matches this season - 7 points above the relegation zone and 29 points behind first place.

The recent result was a good one for West Ham who didn't conceed for the first time in the Premier League since the 27th of October, just under 3 months ago. The win over Bolton comes a week after West Ham travelled to Doncaster for the 3rd round of the FA cup which the Hammers won easily 2-0.

West Hams greatest success so far this season has undoubtedly been getting to the quarter finals of the League cup, which they lost 3-0 to Liverpool at Anfield. To be fair, they conceded 2 goals at the death going for the equaliser. They had an easy run though, beating Burnley, Bolton and Oldham to get there.

West Ham are now set to travel to the other side of town to take on Fulham, a must win match against the struggling Fulham who sit only 4 points behind West Ham. Lucas Neil and his men are in for a hard time but West Ham will be hoping they can continue there good form and extend on there 2 match winning streak.

Well looks like a very close battle their in the second half of the season. West Ham still can be relegated and still can play in Europe next season. Great start mate :clap looking forward for more.

Nice start dude. Looks good so far and I can't wait for more :) It looks very close at the top of the table too.

I got pwned in my next 2 games and got sacked... Great. A mod might as well close this as the Upton park struggle is over :p
