This is it - Ashes Cricket (Beta Feedback)

i think this game will release streets ahead of dbc 14 or 17 - including where they finished up and even with franco's hack!

one of the best things about having early pre-release access to the game was there much less constraints in terms of "we cant do x, because of how implemented y". i think we got to a core solid gameplay quite quickly, which gave us time to go over things like - how can we stop fast bowlers being in the slips, can we see the ball better and appreciate the wear, can we add seam control, is the gully in the right place, why doesn't overcast look properly overcast, why is the commentator talking every ball... all stuff you can hopefully see in wealey's video is FIXED but which neither we nor BA prioritised over core gameplay.

beta is a small group (i think it's @Dutch @WealeyH @grkrama @Llewelynf @T.J.Hooker @Rising Flock @SnowyCasanova & me) so i am sure when this game is released and is being played by hopefully tens or hundreds of thousands of people there'll be something we missed, maybe even something glaring, but i hope this thread will buy the benefit of the doubt: this is not a half-assed money grab, it's not a dbc17 patch 5, it's not ashes dlc... it's a new and seriously improved game that has been produced by some very talented and dedicated people.[DOUBLEPOST=1509896742][/DOUBLEPOST]

if you mean gameplay sliders, yes. there is no difference in games across the consoles.
The key to the testers was that we all have vastly different skill sets, things we like and views on the game. We made a great team and @MattW and @mikeymerren (and others) were truly amazing with their commitment to getting this right.

Licensed players bats and kits are locked

How is it going to work in terms of the Academy and downloaded teams?

Are the official England and Australia teams locked into an Ashes series section of the game?

Can you remove for example Cook from the squad but bring in say Nick Gubbins or another created player?
What happens if we download best teams, what happens to Eng and Oz?

All the people that Blocker mentioned as beta testers, were well deserving of it. They were consistently here, and are a great representation of the quality PC forums have to offer. I don't know how you guys did it with your schedules, but thanks all of you. DBC 14 was my first game on Steam, and boy am I glad it was. Also, BA has risen from all the **** they had to take in with bugs and all, it takes some doing. So, a special thanks to Ross and team to show such commitment. I am a bit emotional now, 11 days to go :D

And here's some batting , the game looks a lot better than this as this isnt the highest possible visual setting, also the yt compression.
Great video. Bowling speed looks all fine. Superb. Apart from one commentary miss stating maiden for a one run over.

Once again best thread ever and hats off to all you guys.

Something I just thought of: Has the way stamina and the effects it has on bowling been looked at at all? It always kind of bothered me that in DBC '17 you would just lose ~20kph off your speed once stamina go low and that was about it. Would love to see maybe now it makes it harder to get the direction/jump right as well.

They are not locked. So Broad for example will be playable in a custom bbl and you can play against eng or aus in a casual game with S.A. for example[DOUBLEPOST=1509898198][/DOUBLEPOST]

One more thing as it stands now, eng and aus can not be shared as a team as they are. players can be.

Hi @Llewelynf ,

From this screen shot what I understand is the particular player has played an ODI match and the same is listed under LIST A category as well , which is correct as per DBC14? Correct me if I am wrong ...
That player is the on disk ab de villiers. I used him in an odi and it correctly assigned it to both odi and lo with is correct.

It is also great that you can have Classic controle for pace and new controls for spin or the other way round.

The AI leave very well, very realistically.

Amongst all the hype its good to remember that there is room for improvement in certain areas and BA are committed to supporting the game where needed after release.

I Cannot stress enough the dedication of the guys and girls at BA....really really amazing.....all hours of the day and night....and there was fun and Jokes and banter and stress and frustration and just human beings enthusiastically working together
