This is it - Ashes Cricket (Beta Feedback)

Its in twisties vid already and in the dev vid.......people also need to realise that while its good to have a sneek peek of the game its also good to chill and wait the couple of weeks to play it yourself.....

Easy for the people who can already play it to say! :lol:p

the main reason for us to release some info and visuals of the game was to turn the vibe around; it was killing to see all the shite being said about ba and the game knowing what we knew.....[DOUBLEPOST=1509985022][/DOUBLEPOST]

I understand that but its good to remember that the beta thing is also a lot of hard work......I have some 200 hours on the game since we got our hands on it some 6 weeks ago. Posting bugs, deleting saves, hunting down things, engaging in conversationn and debate etcetera.....its not like we are playing a finished product.....and of course to find the balance between cricket nerds like us and the casual player and newcomer.....It is amazing the spectrum of players the gam can now cater to...

No I'd say the one in my video of Woakes is the most slings! No proper proper round arm. Kinda of as you would expect as no one in the Ashes bowls like this!

So how many actions are there for fast bowlers

Well that amount of time means the AI must be better at batting for a draw ;)
Absolutely! Ai really give you a run for your money.....I played the first three tests of the ashes series for example and was 2 0 down with the second game being a draw! At acertain point we were discussing on the beta thread how on earth I should get them out! It became a cricket discussion rather than a game discussion!

For me personally it wasn't that I thought Big Ant were doing it cynically as a "cash grab" like some people, I just wasn't sure that in just 6 months since the last '17 patch that the gameplay could have improved so much that it would be worth paying full price. Even without any other info/videos it would have made me a lot more optimistic just to know that there were people from here working on the gameplay with them. :cheers

Thats where we can really appreciate ba wanting to engage with the community. And i really feel that the beta boys werent just doing for themselves, but really wanting ba to build a game that would blow our minds and having us talking about the stories and memories and the narrative that the game creates....looking back on a series and remembering the key moments, the big innings, the crucial wickets, the wrong decisions, the costly dropped catches......this game does that.....is it perfect? No, not yet. Will we all come across things we wish were different or better implemented, yes......does it create an immersive authentic cricket experience......fack yeah!

We also need to remember that BA are committed to the game; the beta process is still very much ongoing.......123 pages of pure input and counting.....still tweaking, still begging for more this and more that! And every single time they came up with the goods, we moaned we harrassed we were frustrated and sometimes rude and angry....they just took it in their stride and surprised us time after time....

What I love about the innings I have played is that each time it was different, each time someone failed or someone stood up and the wickets were earnt or you could see where you had let them off.....or you opened up an end and from 213 for 3 they were suddenly 236 for 6 and you felt you had a way in.....and then they shut up shop.....I remember Maxwell coming in and scoring 13 off 72 balls.....just leaving and defending, leaving and defending...and they built a partnership and they were in the driving seat again....

Can you choose what country you can play the World cup, World T20 etc in?

I remember Renshaws innings in one series something like 9, 16, 0, 134.......and you just loved it and you felt part of a story, a tussle of to and fro....of very absorbing cricket played out amongst arch rivals but also respectful friends......this game does that, it really is very very immersive and very worthy of the Ashes name.......and an absolute antidote and cleansing of the utter garbage that was the last time a cricket game was allowed to carry this beautiful, historic and wonderful name......Honestly, I ****in love BA......

Simply wonderful listening to the story behind the testing phase. Makes it even more exciting to get the final product in hand. Go on if there are stories or experiences you guys wanna share. I am all ears and suppose most of us here are as well.

One of the most repeated words in our discussions for patches in both dbc games and throughout the ashes 17 pre-release has been "narrative"

Does AI drop catches ?
