That is a improvement in your bowling there Tom. :) Great works mate. Keep up the neat and tidy presentation.

Great comeback by Kent there. Second spell so far has been much better. You could roll them now.

I would just like to thank everyone for commenting so far throughout this story. You guys inspire me to keep going, through the hours of work I put into this.

I will hopefully be able to update tomorrow. Keep posting :)

Friday 28th March

So at Tea the match was hanging in the balance. If these two could develop a partnership they could quickly take the game away from us. Equally so, if myself and Cooky could get quick wickets in the final session, we could bowl them out for around the same total as us.

As we walked out there it seemed very overcast and I was hoping it wouldn't start to rain again. I had so far managed to rescue my firgures so that I had given away 29 runs of 6 overs. I wanted to pick up my first wicket though. Things didn't start too well for myself and Cooky. It seemed like the batsmen came out with an agressive stratergy. I particularly seemed to be targeted and I quickly became too expensive. Cooky also didn't do to well. After just a 3 over spell I was once again taken out of the attack and replaced by Jimmy. I had now gone for 51 runs of just 9 overs. I was gutted.

However it appeared it wouldn't matter that I was struggling as Jimmy seemed to rescue us. It had been a gamble putting him in the team but it appeared to be paying of. He soon had 5 wickets picked up and we were ecstatic. Warwickshire had gone from 214/5 to 231/7 all via the result of Jimmy's bowling. He had bowled 20 overs had 10 maidens, only given away 14 runs and had picked up 5 wickets. Monty Panesar better look out.

With the end of the day looming the skip took another big risk and introduced me into the attack again!!! I really wanted to pick up a wicket and with only the keper, Piper, there batting with the tail, if I could get his wicket we would be pretty safe.

Piper had been batting quite agressively knowing he was running out of partners, but as I had rubbish figures anyway, I decided I had nothing to lose. I kept bowling very full trying to find an edge. Eventually my determination payed of. A very full ball he attempted to drive me missed it and was clean bowled. I had picked up my first wicket. Finally. The score was now 261/8 and Warwickshire had a slender lead. If we could bowl out the tail before the end of the day we would be able to have a whole day of batting to look forward to.

Martin the main strike bowler was brought back into the attack to hopefully get us those last two wickets. It seemed it had worked as he got the wicket of Giles for only 4 runs, with the skip taking an amazing catch. Warwickshire were now 261/9. There were only 1 over left. Could the last two batsmen survive it?

Cricket20052008-01-0112-23-52-62.jpg

That answer was yes. Carter and Pretorius survived the five balls and Warwickshire ended the day on 261/9. The bowlers had done an excellent job ripping through the middle order but it was all down to Jimmy tredwell who had picked up regular wickets and a five wicket haul. Back in the vhanging rooms he was a hero and as tradition states we poured a bucket of cold water all over him :p It had been an excellent final session for us.

You would have thought by the noise in the changing room that we had won the match. Even though Warwickshire still had a slight lead, they had looked to be on line for a massive total, thanks to the opening three batsmen, but we had managed to peg them back.

As I was drivng back I had Quen playing "We are the Champions" It did feel a bit like that. The main thing for me was to perform with the bat tomorrow. If we could bat solidly and get a nice big lead, we could hopefully have a nice time bowling at the Warwickshire batsmen on Day 4. When I got home, I switched on the World Cup highlights. England were out and would be returning home. Duncan Fletcher had been sacked. This was not good for the county scene as all these International players would be swamping the counties making it very difficult for us small guns. Hopefully I could impress. I ate my Tesco's microwave chicken curry and headed upstairs to bed. Hopefully tomorrow night we would be celebrating another victory.

Your playing County Cricket and the best you can afford is TESCO'S chicken curry??

Nice update, Looked to have dragged the game back and hopefully Kent can win it from here

Yeah you are. The high number of extras was mainly due to it being 2 runs per no ball. Thanks everyone for commenting so far

Brilliant story Tom. That was a lot better bowling from you there in that spell before the close of play. Full and straight Tom. They Miss...You Hit! ;) Hopefully you can bowl them out early tomorrow.

Great graphics and best of luck.

61 extras is a bit if the higher side considering the fact that a no-ball cost 2 runs. Hoping that they lose their last wicket early tomorrow. Nice presentation mate. KUTGW :)

Yeh nice pres - and great bowling from Tredwell - I think England must have seen that seeing as hes been called up to the ODI squad ;) - Good recovery from Kent! Lets hope you can win it! :)

yeh great work Tom well done on the first wicket and now you must bat well fletcher gone i wonder who will take over

Shocking with the extras. You have done well to pull the game back.
