Sunday 7th April

The mood in the changing room was excellent. As we changed out of our whites and into out trackies a lot of banter was going on. It was all light hearted and we all had a good laugh. We did our warm-down, which is very important so as to make sure we don't do ourselves an injury. During that we played some rugby with the high point being me getting dump tackled by Cooky. Everyone cheered as I got him back a few mintes later.

Afterwards we all got on the coach which would be driving us to the nearby Hilton. There was a massive bar there but we were forbidden from going anywhere near it. However what mattered was there. A massive King-sized bed for us to crash out on. There was also a casino next door. I doubted any of the guys would go there though.

Not a bad place to stay

We all piled into reception, with Amjad knocking over a vase with his kit bag. We all cheered like teenagers. Amjad is a really quiet guy and a real gentleman and he went bright red and kept on apologising. I told the guys to leave of him as he was getting uncomfortable. Everyone was soon distracted by the handing out of room keys. Cooky came up

"Tom, guess what. I'm next to you"

"Oh God. That means no sleep for me then :p"

It was an actual concern of mine. Cooky would end up doing something stupid like setting the hotel on fire while drunk. I would have to watch out for him. We all dumped our bags upstairs and then filed down for dinner. It was pretty damn decent. I had Minestrone Soup to start with. Haddock and chips for the main and finished of with cheesecake. I rounded this all of by sharing a bottle of Jacob's Creek, "Pinot Noir" with Cooky. Pretty decent stuff and it was all free!!! :happy

Me and Cooky made quick work of this ;)

Soon afterwards we all headed upstairs. Cooky had disappeared, but I had seen him trying to chat up some chicks. That boy never learns :noway I went up to my room and had a really refreshing shower. I then went and crashed out on the bed, switching on the news. Nothing of interest was on. I soon fell asleep

BANG!!!!!!!!!!

I shot bolt upright. What had been that massive bang? I looked at my clock. It was 2 in the morning. There was a scraping sound at my window. I pushed back the curtains and nearly passed out. There was someone at my window. The only thing was we were 2 floors up. I soon relaised it was Cooky. He had clambered up the drain pipe.

"TOM. Let me in. I'm being chased. How was I meant to know she was married. For the love of God let me in!!!!!"

I opened the window and he fell in

What the hell happened. And why is half your hair green?:eek::eek:

"Long story. I've lost my hotel key. Can I sleep on your couch for the night?"

"Yeah sure."

What the hell had all that been about. I would have to find out more details in the morning but for now I just wanted to sleep.

Monday 8th April

I woke up and it took me a few moments to remember the events from last night. Cooky was on the couch snoring loudly. I decided to let him sleep a bit longer. I went and had a shower to wake me up and then had a shave. By now it was 7:30 and Cooky was still asleep. So I got the shower hose extended it out and drenched Cooky!!!!!! :p

"What the Hell!!!!!! What are you doing?"

"Waking you up. Now hurry up. You need to get back into your own room."

It transpired that Cooky did actually have his room key, it was just in his wallet. I did however want one thing answered.

"Simon mate. Why's your hair green?"

"Oh that. I feel alseep in a field full of cabbages. It should wash out."

It better wash out or else he would look pretty damn stupid and have some serious explaining to do :p

I decided to head down to the restaurant and have breakfast. David, Martin, Amjad and Jimmy were all there. It was self-service and so I decided to go continental today. Cold ham, two boiled eggs, some fresh bread and 2 croissants. I also added to this a massive pot of tea. I went down and sat betwen Amjad and Jimmy. Myself and Amjad spent the rest of breakfast discussing religion. Nothing to heavy early on? :p

Eventually the rest of the team turned up. Cooky's hair had luckily resumed it's normal colour and he was beginning to wake up. Very slowly :p. Eventually everyone finished, by 8:30, and we all got our kit bags and piled in to the coach. We made slow progress due to it being Monday morning and arrived at the ground at 9:30. We all changed into our whites and laughed when someone got hold of a jock-strap and tied it onto the coach without him noticing :laugh By 10 we were all ready and began to get briefed by Graham who was not happy when he found the jock-strap.

"No more practical jokes guys or you'll all be doing laps. Right guys. Down to business. Excellent bowling yesterday. We have them in an excellent position. The conditions look exactly the same as yesterday so we should continue where we left of. Andy and Tom are going to open the bowling again today, and then Dave will take it from there on who he thinks should bowl next. As long as we get a couple of wickets, we'll be fine. Now go out and warm-up."

We all left and went outside. We had half an hour to warm up. While the non-bowlers played a game of touch rugby the bowlers, concentrated on bowling to a single un-guarded stump to get our line and length right. Eventually 11 arrived. It was time for us to finish Gloucestershire off. Hopefully the tail would provide little resistance.
