Time Travel

I tried changing the course of history in MGS3. Suffice to say, it failed. :(

IMO time doesn't exist. It's just something humans created to keep order and help in organization.

Time is relative.

It may be relative but one thing is for certain, time is linear. There is no going back.

Imagine how many paradoxes time travel would have created. There's that "grandfather paradox" thing as well as numerous similar kind of stuff. Don't think it will ever be possible.

^ Yeah, maybe you're right.

Professor Predicts Human Time Travel This Century

Ronald Mallett, Professor at the University of Connecticut, has used Einstein’s equations to design a time machine with circulating laser beams. While his team is still looking for funding, he hopes to build and test the device in the next 10 years.

Lol. The whole "time" thing is so complicated!

I bet every scientist who's tried to discover time-travel has said that if they do discover it, they'd come back and tell them how to do it. Which never happens. I know I've made that pledge to myself. I'm giving myself till the age of 30 till I find out that I'm not making that happen :p

Human's created time?

No, it was either created by: God, aliens, the spaghetti monster or the BBT (which was actually created by a catholic priest, no really.)

Time is a dimension, it wasn't created by man (or anything). Don't confuse time with a clock.

Time travel possible? On Earth, certainly not. Outside of this planet, who knows, it's more sci-fi than sci-theory, not much research in to it at all.

Now, teleportation is indeed possible. It is held back by our data storage not being quick enough, nor powerful enough to cope. Theory being that you have a ultra-defined MRI that represents each atom in the body as a bit, then once all this is collected, you can then project the data. Un-tested, but it's pretty strong baring the whole data dilemna. [/sightlyofftopicbutinteresting]

Err, wouldn't that actually create copies rather than teleportation? :p

I'm not saying Humans created time, rather the idea of it.

If time doesn't exist, there is nothing to create. Time is nothing but a representation of life and death.

Your losing me here Rohit,

Time is nothing but a representation of life and death

???

Also I don't think we even created the idea of time. Even animals know when it times to mate/migrate/seasons etc. We just managed to implement a system to measure it accurately.
