Tour match thread -Scotland v Australia Aug 28

Brilliant bowling Brett Lee. It will be hard to keep him out of the first XI now. He bowled quick and accurate and his line and length was impeccable. Clark wasn't bad, had a catch dropped by Haddin as did Lee, so that's worth remembering. Hauritz was poor again on a slow pitch. Johnson was poor as well.

Johnson
Lee
Siddle
Clark

If things stay the same in the second innings when we bowl then my bowling line up would look like that.

Theory of the day: Ponting in his current state should NOT be batting at #3.

I doubt he would give up that spot now, but he is just playing so loosely - almost recklessly. Every time he comes in now, he seems desperate to put his stamp on the bowling. It's almost as if that golden run he had from approx. 01/02-06/07 has made him - in his mind - an awesome, almost invincible batsman who can play as he pleases. Yes he's still able to score runs occasionally (he's averaging 43 since the last Ashes), but I'm not liking his mindset.

At 1/10 he doesn't seem to care about the early loss too much and doesn't exercise much caution. I'd bat him at #5, hoping that he might change his mindset a bit if he came in at 3/50, instead of 1/10. Move Clarke up to #3, he has the temperament for it, and is playing very well at present.
Yeah, I agree. He's just so reckless against good bowlers. He's still the most likely player to turn 20 runs into 50 or more, but he seems to make the least effort to actually get to 20.

I think he's onto something. Unfortunately he mixed up the hyperlinks, therefore making Stephen Moore look like a Jackass. (Surprise, Jackass isn't censored on these forums, one out of about fifty)

THHHHHHHHHHHHHHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT ISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS THHHEEEEEEEEEEEE POOOOOOOOOOOOINNNNNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTT.

Wee mans friend is hot.

North's gone onto 191 just before lunch, I guess we can wipe his name of the form guide.

Btw is Australia going to delcare today?

It's saying on Cricinfo "North grinds 191 before declaration". Don't tell me they've declared before his 200 :O

They did. I guess it doesn't really matter, it's only a tour game.

Johnson's first over went for 11, Denly is an attacking player isn't he?

Howsie added 13 Minutes and 20 Seconds later...

With North scoring runs in this match it would pretty much mean Hauritz won't play wont it?

North's spin would be just as good.

Lol the Lions are on 29 after just four overs, maybe they're going for the win ;)

Johnson's seam presentation is in the large awful. He'll never swing the ball bowling with a seam position like that.

And as I type he gets a little bit of swing and Moore edges behind. Time for Belly to hit a match winning double ton.......:p

Ooooh yeah baby, Marcus North - the WA boy is back in the runs.

Much needed boost before the Ashes. Things starting to come to places for the Aussies.

Aye, was an awful, typical Bell shot at the end of a session. Was a rank delivery from Hauritz and Bell just pushed it into his leg and straight to Katich at short-leg. Bell does not seem to have improved at all.

Lee's at it again. Solanki gone, late reverse inswing. Superb bowling, he's going to be key in this series, more so than Johnson I think.

Lee gets another one with in swinger. He is bowling quick.
