Will there be a seperate forum for this or will there just be a thread?

Anyway who here is following the U19 WC? I'm heavily following it because the USA U19 team is playing it...and who is the manager of the team? None other than Ashok Patel..the manager of the cricket club I play for here in NJ. 3 of my friends are also going to play in this tournament. Deane..who is a member of the squad...and Megh Bhatt, and Brijesh Patel...who both are really good friends of mine..are both going to Sri Lanka to play in this tournament. Originally only a squad of 14 was suppose to go..but a couple of days Ash Patel got permission from ICC to bring a 16 man squad and now Megh Bhatt and Brijesh Patel..who were reserves to the squad..are selected.

So what team are you guys following for this tournament?

Some of my friends went to Los Angles for this tournment or something like that. . .

I support USA and India :happy

Supporting England, obviously, but look for Bangladesh to spring a surprise in this tournament, their Under 19 team are on fire at the moment.

Nepal always good for an upset victory too.

Are there any 'homegrown' players in the American team or are they all players of Asian/English/West Indian descent.

American kids do not have the time and patience to indulge in a sport that takes 8 hours to complete. Also, there is no money at all in cricket in USA and I doubt whether there will be any "homegrown" players in the US team
