Under 19 World Cup

I'd be following the tournament better if one of the lads from my school made it into the SA side. From what I have heard he is a reserve, and made the SA 'Colts' team.

I reckon this Australian team should fare pretty well even though they aren't seeded this time round. Moises Henriques is a name to look out for, as are the Victorians Aaron Finch and Joh Holland

Our lads have got a fair chance, watch out for Tom Smith, up and coming all rounder imo.

England squad
Moeen Ali (Warwickshire, capt)
Varun Chopra (Essex)
Nicholas James (Warwickshire)
Andrew Miller (Lancashire)
John Simpson (Lancashire)
Greg Wood (Yorkshire)
Robert Woodman (Somerset)
Ben Wright (Glamorgan)
Rory Hamilton-Brown (Surrey)
Huw Waters (Glamorgan)
Mark Nelson (Northamptonshire)
Steven Mullaney (Lancashire)
Graeme White (Northamptonshire)
Mark Stoneman (Durham)

I thought Ben Harmison was in the U 19s. No Tom Smith btw sureshot

Why not?
And I see there is another Asian in the England team...let me guess, a spinner? :p

Moeen Ali is primarily a batsman, but is developing into a useful spinner.

As for the reason why Ben Harmison can't be selected for this World Cup, it should be easy to guess!

What about Varun Chopra?
And I guess Ben has touched the legal drinking age...

Varun Chopra is a batsman, and very occasional leg spinner.

Being past the legal drinking age wouldn't automatically mean not being eligible for the under 19 side, 18 being the drinking age in the UK, but you're on the right lines. He's 20 now.

18 is the legal age in the UK? My bad :p
So can we expect to see ben and Steve in action together anytime soon? For Durham even?

Just a thought, Ireland have a chance of getting through to the Super League stage of this world cup.

Look at their group:

England: Lost all 11 matches on their tour to Bangladesh.
Zimbabwe: Enough said.
Nepal: Hardly stretched in qualifying.

Plus Ireland have 3 players from the senior side in their squad, and are captained by Eoin Morgan, who plays for Middlesex and has a first class century to his name.
