One of the classiest players, his wrist work is incomparable. artist at work when he gets going.

Everyone remembers Laxman for the 281 at Eden but this knock announced his arrival, taking on a Mcgrath who was running through the indian batting lineup but not Lax, couple that with warne and lee.

The ease with which he plays warne was unnerving to see, its not him smashing for boundaries but the surety with which he plays him.

The evergreen one now words for this. It brought a belief to that indian team to comeback from dire situations.

75 vs aus at brisbane 2004 One of his not converted to hundred knocks but a top one, rescuing ind with ganguly after SRT and RD were dismissed for 0 & by dizzy.

The repeat of Kolkata in adelaide with Laxman switching roles with dravid

Third 300 + partnership agaisnt Aus this time with sachin

You forgot the one at Mohali in 2010. India chasing 215 in the final innings were 124/8, and then VVS and Ishant got together for a 81 run stand. Ishant fell at 205, but VVS (73 n.o.) along with Ojha finished the job.

Yup that was an epic one certainly, thought match was gone when MSD got runout, but ishy blocked it out. Laxman's knocks with the tail were certainly invaluable.

Pure masterclass is VVS but performed below average for most of his career. One of the best knocks ever came from this guy!

Not bad i would say, cant believe he has hit only 5 6's in his whole test career.

Still he could have done a bit more against other sides, if he could have turned up with his A game like he always did with AUS.

Should have averaged better too, but I guess he was a late bloomer. That and also that he did bat lower down the order.

Blessed to have started watching cricket exactly when he was playing his greatest ever test innings and along with Dravid, began scripting a major success story for India, starting from that day.
