Warne rediscovers his flipper

Cook didnt always look dodgy, just at the start of a spell, but i suppose thats when Warne bowled Gatting and Struass :p

If Cook can just get his eye in he looks OK, but if not well it can spell disaster

He just looks edgy against spin and was also suspectable to the inswinging ball (as are most left handers to be honest). I think Warne will have a field day with him.

The thing is however dodgy Cook looked, he learned and improved with every over he spent in the middle.

I haven't seen a batsman so young adjust to international cricket as rapidly as him in a long time. He looks like he has a weakness, and then come the next test he seems totally at ease, has all the makings of a quality batsman.

I feel Cook could struggle against Warne and Macgill, but he is a good player of fast bowling and can cut and pull, so he could go well against Mcgrath and Lee.

He shouldn't be getting too many to cut with McGrath bowling, he will however get a fair few short balls to pull from him. Lee probably more likely to give both.

I think left handers will always be suspect in these big series because both teams have a fair good left handed batsmen.

Tresco and Strauss have worked hard but like someone said, they look suspectable to certain balls, Strauss with the spin and Tresco is sometimes a bit lazy against the fast bowlers, both are great most of the time but things like this makes people say things against the left handers.

Warne should really be putting his all into this series as im pretty sure it'll be his last Ashes campaign, now i dont know if he can top 40 wickets in 5 tests but he keeps amazing people, so why cant he? I think the most highlighted batsmen will be KP/Flintoff, because KP is now expected to deliver and Fred because of the captaincy issues. For Australia it'll definatly be both Gilchrist and he un-seeming ability to play the right handers bowling around the wicket. I think Martyn will have to play a big role after his recent proformance in South Africa!

As this seems to have turned into a debate about players weaknesses/strengths I'm going to close this now as it can be discussed in the England in Australia thread.
