Weird AI can't score a run!

It's probably happening because you have an unskilled bowler, not because of the career mode specificity.

Do a casual match with the Russian team or some other similarly badly rated side and do the same thing with their bowlers and you'll likely get a similar result.

Thanks. I'll try it.

Just one more thing. The batsmen just keeps pushing the ball to the short mid on-mid off fielders and gets run out like 4-5 times in an innings. Is that too because if bowling this length with not completing the controls? Just wanted to know.

I tried this type of bowling in 7 matches just to see if all the teams I play against bat the same way. Not because i just want inflate my wickets tally.

If I'm being a '' moron'' by not completing the controls they the particular deliver should be called noball/dead etc. I'm doing what's permitted within the game and so it shouldn't be happening.

Also, I don't know if I sounded like complaining or bitching because I wasn't. I mentioned it because this 'long hop-cant score a run' thing happens only in career mode. So i was wondering if there would be a fix to it.

I don't think you're correct about it only occurring in career mode - there are reports of online players exploiting in exactly the same way and I've certainly experienced it batting in career mode.

Exploits are exploitative *shrugs*

I don't know about that because I haven't tried that in online matches but in casual matches the AI easily pulls the same same delivery for 4s and 6s,even plays the dilscoop. (even in lower diffculty)

May be as Matt mentioned it's because of the skill set of tge player.

i think you're being a moron by not completing the controls properly, finding it results in an exploit that kills your fun and continuing to do it. you play games to have fun. to go out of your way to do something that kills your fun and continue to do it over 7 matches is moronic. Q.E.D.

that is an entirely separate point to the issue of whether Big Ant should fix this, either by making it noball/dead ball or giving it a huge timing window that could hardly fail to see it smashed to the ropes.

May be you are the one being stupid. Even if you complete the controls by pushing the RS up at the last moment possible the result is the same.

The AI sets stupid fields like 5 slips in the 18th over of a t20 match. So by your theory I shouldn't be exploting it by scoring runs and should just stand there and block it.

Needs moar than just a huge timing window - that's likely to end up with people hitting catches down the throat of a fielder ;)

So a huge timing window, and a massive temporary confidence boost.

If I'd developed the game, I'd adjust the result of a shot to account for how "well" the ball had been delivered (as well as the batsman's timing and shot selection and the confidence of each player) so badly delivered balls are easily punished but you've got the possibility of playing a good shot to a great ball and still getting out (which happens)

I don't know whether Big Ant did it this way or not, but the difficulty getting long-hops away would lead me to think they didn't.

Also, try to read my previousl post. I did it 7 matches because I want to see if all the teams play the same or it's just the lower rung sides that bat that way. I DON'T ENJOY GETTING 5 WICKET HAULS IN EVERY SINGLE MATCH!

I have never batted against AI bowlers bowling that type of length. Have you? What are the results, I'm curious to know. Is it impossible to get those kind of deliveries away?

I have had slow long hops bowled at me by the AI. Often it will have a green or yellow circle, so I'm pretty sure it's the result of a bad delivery.

It's very hard to do anything with - playing back and square usually misses the ball completely, it's very hard to do anything except push to mid-on or mid-off.

I've seen people suggest hitting square off the front foot works (when playing online against exploiters), but haven't had it often enough to remember that.

Since it bounces knee high i guess flicking it to square leg or fine leg (front foot) might work. Not sure though.

As I said, that's what's been suggested.

The fact is, though, that a delivery like that should actually sit up, wait and beg you to smash it anywhere you like.

Realistically, yes. I Remember in EA 07 cricket there was a similar issue. Select a slow medium bowler and bowl it short, especially on damp pitches, and you'll pick up a wicket every ball since the bowl just bounces shoe high.

Yeah that was an easy exploit. But, just as here, I realised it was no fun and so stopped doing it after testing it and started bowling properly. This isn't an AI problem if you don't make it one.

I'm playing game on amateur level. Tried pro level but just can't bat or score many runs. Don't enjoy playing on pro level but have some good (and enjoyable) games on amateur. Dunno if it's because I can't seem to find decent fielding settings that the ai scores at around 6 an over. It hits singles to long off...I bring long off in and it hits singles to long on...I bring long on in and it hits singles to wherever. To counter this I have maxed the skills of one spinner. The ai can't seem to score runs off this spinner and he bowls many maiden overs or overs for 1-2 runs. Keeping run rate down to a decent amount.
