just scraped through on my vbookie bet :D

1400 on Kiwis.

Was it a bad pitch, or bad batting?

The pitch can't really be blamed. Auckland is the same pitch where Lee took us apart so I dunno. Just something about the pitch doesn't like us. A bit tennis bally they said.

I put both teams poor batting performance down to 1 thing. Fantastic bowling. Both sides bowled extremly well, almost all bowlers. Hardly a poor ball really. We were bowled by 3 or so yorkers which we tried to smash :/ which is why we lost soo many wickets. Trying to hit yorkers and slowerballs out of the park. They were the deliverys which did all the damage.

Fleming said at the end, they thought the score was too low from the WI so they wanted to get it over with and entertain the crowd. Mabee next time we will take it a little more carefully.

it was a drop in pitch i think because the rugby just started last week so i guess thats means it cant have been all that good

Its always drop in pitches in NZ. Most of their grounds double up as a rugby ground. It was just poor batting cause last year Ponting and the Aussies smashed 200.

Christchurch and Wellington are drop in pitches. They went for very high scores.

I don't see how drop in pitches are any different to other pitches.

It wasn't the best batting, but it was more good bowling than bad batting I felt.

true that well theres no excuse for their bad batting except good bowling, well that match was just a bit of fun the real 50 over match is tomorow should be a good contest after that twenty20.

I can't wait. I hope we bat first and score lots of runs. And then BOnd comes in and gets lots of wickets.

Heres my psychic prediction.

We will lose the toss and will bowl first. Bond will get two wickets in his first over and West Indies will score a low total around the 180-200 mark. Fleming will get 80 odd runs in chasing the total and Marshall will be in at the end to hit the winning run.

Ok lol, its just for fun. We will see if anything comes true.

Upcoming match is already tomorrow. I hope Bravo plays, just to see a competitive match.

that would be nice, fleming needs a good 80, actually i htink e needs a hundred because of that bad conversion rate hes got... like 6 100s and 40 odd 50s :(

if Bravo doesnt play...the kiwis will walk all over the Windies.

Sarwan isnt crucial, he's clearly overrated and lacks mental strength, Chanderpaul is a poor leader and they lack a real strike bowler with no Collymore or Collins. Chris Gayle is important but inevitably he smashes 15-20 off 9 and then gets out to an extravegant shot.

gee didnt i just lay into them :D

I agree without Bravo they look very brittle and considering they are without Lara as well they look even more weak. Sarwan is a good player, he just had a bad tour to Ausrealia where he made starts but couldn't convert them to larger totals.

Sarwan is a pretty good player. He has a great shot selection. He was a bit unlucky the way he got out in the Test series against Australia. I hope he recovers from his disease to play for the West Indies again.

And it's easy said then to be done. New Zealand really had some difficulties in the Twenty20 match against them. Although it's just a Twenty20 match, New Zealand only needed six runs an over and should have easily reached it.

Sarwan has loads of potential. During the test series against Aus he was creaming the ball everywhere and scoring at a run a ball. Then he would have a brain explosion and hes out. If he could convert those starts he would be a lethal player.
