Agreed and that's why he's been around for such a long time. They're just waiting for that time where he can break through into consistency, but that's the thing. They're just waiting. There's been plenty of criticism about West Indian cricket development and boards, where they're not helping the young and talented players through onto the big stage because they think they're still living in their glory days. It's something Micahel Holding has said a bit and is very true. They also need to control his mental side as mentioned. I also agree about Bravo, not only his talent, but his energy and enthusiasm lifts the spirit of a team that generally looks pretty bored.

They definitely need to develop their players better. I agree that there is times where they look bored. Infact in was mentioned during the Aussie series that they can't play for long periods. But when Aus only needed 100 or something the Windies were all pumped up.

Just came to know its in Wellington today but still can't go to Westpac, dam my work.:(
But will go and watch the test watch as the Basin is only 5 minutes walk from my house.

The game in New Zealand is on Sky Sport & in the Caribbean on CMC.

NZ 209/1 after 37 overs... Interesting to see how Lara and company chase whatever target NZ set, and its certain to be over 300!

No Lara today and for the whole ODI series. Also Bravo is expected to miss out the rest of the ODI series or atleast the next few.

If it was Australia 330 would be a definite from here.
WI don't look like competiting in this series. I hope they put a better showing with the bat.

Well atleast Fleming scores a few, that should help his confidence as he's been away from international cricket fot a while and struggling for form. However he continues his trend of failing to convert his starts into hundreds.

Well if Fleming was a bit more circumspect than he perhaps would of been searching for the century. A good knock and was playing for the team to score quickly and help Astle.

NZ are now seeing how life is without Cairns. NZ would be lucky to make 300 right now, this is where Cairns and Oram would come in handy. It was interesting that they sent out Franklin ahead of Marshall.

Nothing is ever definate. And after the death bowling, I say definaty not.

I don't know why McCullum and Franklin got promoted. Before Fulton and Marshall thats stupid. If your going to promote anyone, promote Vettori, hes a provincial opener. McCullum and Franklin are last 4-5 over jobs. Not last 10 overs.

How started well, Fleming played brilliantly and could of done a lot mroe damage. It wasn't really well caught, it was a simple as catch. Due to him having to stop the shot. Astle very unlucky to get out, he usually hits those balls for four. He played fantastic though. We are missing our entire bottom order really so we were a little rusty there. No Oram, Mills, Adams and of course Cairns just retired so we will be without him from now on in normal circumstance anyway.

Styris had a great Cameo. Showed intent at the end and hit some funny inside edges at the end. Pretty clever thinking.

Dissapointing finish, as we should of gone on to make more, but the West Indies have no chance at chasing this score on this pitch with this bowling attack we have.

He was never struggling for form. A lot of people say that. THe only thing hes been struggling with is being in the eleven due to births and health problems. His forms been fine Internationally and Domestically.

Stupid and experimental are the words which pop into my head. I can only presume they promoted a few of thos eplayers to see how they would do in that new batting spot Cairns vacated while Oram is injured.

All in all though, its great to see such a big opening partnership with a new player. It would of done Astle (who was borderline selection a few months back) and How (a new player, also borderline) a world of good. And thats all that matters.

Marshall should be batting higher. He is like Mike Hussey with the way he bats.
The reason I say 330 would be a definite for Aus is because of Mr Cricket. He is that good at the death he can put any ball to the fence.

Not inswining yorkers at 145km/h, which is what we were getting. Also Gayle is very good spinner at the death. Hussey would struggle with him.

Us losing 9 wickets or whatever isn't a true indication as 2 were runouts where the batsmen sacrificed themselves trying to get more runs. McCullum, Fleming and Astle all lost their wickets softly trying to up the run rate.

Tey wern't bowling full tosses and half volleys. Thats what Hussey has gotten from Sri Lanka and South Africa

Vettori is going to get 5for. Thats presuming they survive Bond.

Its pressure which makes the full tosses and half volleys. Murali a guy that usually is unplayable got hit for 99. Hall who was good at the death against SL got taken to the cleaners. Anyway we should see when Aus take on SA with their full strength lineup.
