I stopped growing last year. Whatever I eat now, means I gain weight. Really have to start going on a jog. The treadmill makes me dizzy as soon as I get off.

Haha, nah, I'm as skinny as it gets so it's all good for me. :p

Packing on that protein then. ;) If you're skinny and you want to get 'bigger' then yeah - just eat. Try not to compose your diet solely of takeaway food though, eh? ;)

I'm also gaining weight - intentionally. Using a formula found at bodybuilding.com, I've worked out that I need to eat around 2,800 calories a day in order to gain 0.5lbs a week. Gaining weight slowly is the key to stop it all becoming fat - and lifting heavy at the gym of course. ;)

Weight training is supposed to be a lot more effective than just cardio even when it comes to losing weight. To lose weight, you just need to eat less calories than you actually need each day. You can't really 'wing' this stuff - to get it right, you have to work it out for your individual body and yes, it is a bit of a faff to be honest but once you're done, you know how much you need to eat to gain, and how much you need to eat to cut.

Muscle takes up less room than fat, so the scale could be staying where it is - it could even indicate you're gaining weight, but muscle also looks a lot better than fat. It's really more about what you see in the mirror - don't just go by the scales. ;)

Wait - this is the fitness thread, isn't it? :lol Sorry if I've gone off on a bit of an off topic spiel. ;)

That was actually really useful, thanks.

One of my friends, is on a bulking program. He has 4000 calories a day. It is insane. He practically takes two seats. Never realized how much calories are also in a protein shake.

Should probably start working out, got myself a membership, now just have to make an effort and go.

Nice one. :) Once you get into a routine, it can get strangely addictive. Even when you're trying to squeeze that last rep of squats out. :D

4,000 cals a day - he must be a pretty big chap then? I'm relatively short at 5ft 6in so I don't need anything like that, which is a good thing as the grocery bill would be insane. ;)
