Finally got Beats :D A bit late, but worth the wait, sounds perfect. I don't like it much though, I think Philips ones are better, had high expectations aswell.

What!?

Those are stunning headphones @ThebigGgamer, how much did they cost you?

----------

I have these headphones. Purchased them for 1700. Price on flipkart is now 1100 though :p

It is mid-sized so it's convenient to use while travelling as well.

using it for around 10 months now and still works perfectly despite having some, uh, scary moments with it.
Sorry for bringing this back after 20 days, but what do you exactly mean by scary moments? :p

Depends what you're expecting. If you're expecting top of the line sound quality, you won't get anything close to it. If you're expecting extremely fashionable headphones, then you've just picked up the market leader.

Sennheiser (depends on the model) / Harmann Kardon > Beats

Yep I've got Sennheisers:thumbs.

Audiotechnica is good as well, really there are a bunch of great brands, it's just about differentiating between stylish headphones and performance headphones. You'd also expect the build quality to be lower on Beats and the like.

Nothing wrong with Beats, they are more than good enough for listening to all today's pop music (it all sounds the same, the quality increase in a better pair of headphones is negligible), and you'll look better wearing them than Sennheisers.

Beats cost me ?149.99
Whilst Philips ones only costs ?50
Gotta agree with @thedon5, the design and the way it looked made me think it will sound awesome, it still does don't get me wrong, but it didn't cross my expectations.

Beats are extremely bass-heavy. Excellent for hip-hop/"modern music"

Mediocre when you want to listen to something where music/sound arrangement actually matters

This is from personal experience. I had beats in-ear for 3 years and used to love it. It finally gave in due to wear and tear, so I replaced them with sennheiser in-ear in the same price range. The difference is fairly significant.

All modern music sounds the same, you don't need a great pair of headphones to listen to them.

When you get to before the autotune age, then the quality matters a lot more. I also like good headphones for TV shows and movies.

My Sennheiser in-ears cost me $60 and my over ears cost me $130, nowhere near as expensive as beats and some of the best quality possible.
