plain old boring holdem? round these parts boy we call that blasphemy

----------

I really dislike omaha personally. Seen too many people get destroyed trying to go from holdem to omaha. completely different mind set. I'm not a drawing man, so that eliminates me alone. I play the cards I'm dealt, not the ones I think I'll get

well plain old boring isn't really what I think about it, just emphasising how I want to learn a new game.

as for not being a drawing man you can be clear favourite to win the hand despite being behind at the time in omaha, but even in texas a massive draw on the flop can have greater equity than a hand that is ahead at the time. Also 910s is favourite against pocket 33s pre. sure pocket 3s are ahead at the time, but in a flip i'd take 910s.

----------

also my shoes came today. they are infeasibly comfortable.

I'm a very conservative player in real life. So I'd never play the 910 (unless big blind and suited) and I'd only call the blind to see the flop with the 3's. If I don't hit the set on the flop, I'm out.

Don't make a lot but I never loose a lot either.

You play mainly ccash right?

I mainly play tournaments. Whilst tight is right blind pressure + m zones force you unto playing non-premiums sooner or later. if it's a good spot to do so I'll pretty much play any two (like down to 6bb and it folds to me on the small blind and antes are in play I'll only pretend to look at my cards and go all in pretty much all the time)

Yea cash games and I'm not a total miser. I'll play some suited connectors or Ace high every once in a while if I've been out of the action for a bit.

My playing style's much like yours Mark, though I haven't played too much poker recently

Can't loose what you don't risk! I used to be much more aggressive (or reckless) but I took some really bad beats with money I should not have been playing poker with, when I was younger.

We normally play top 3 get cash, with third place getting their money back. So if I'm short stack I normally play extremely conservatively, and hope that one of my friends gets out so I can get my money back :p Normally we play with a few people who don't really know how to play to make up numbers so it's not normally too difficult :p

I don't have a style really. I have a starting strategy, but poker is so dependent on table dynamics and opposition tendencies to just play one way all the time is naive.

Would anyone be up for a genuine online game some time?

Apparently if you email full tilt support you can set up private games. I'd be willing to do all the legwork for it.

Haven't played online in a bit. It's a bitch to get it to work here, most of the reputable sites do not take American customers and I don't trust the others.
