Steyn, Morkel, Aamer, Johnson, Swann, Harbhajan Singh, Ajmal, Asif and many others are still bowling well and making life difficult for batsmen around the world. Its not like we are totally devoid of quality bowlers. Some of these bowlers will definitely bloom into greats in due time. I tip Aamer, Morne and Johnson to be among the greats before they retire.

And finally, there are the bowlers who came, made an impact, had a lot of talk about them, but faded away. Friedel de Wet, Sreesanth, RP, Piyush Chawla, Panesar, Botha, Tsotsobe, Fernando. There is always a chance for players like these to re-emerge and take the world by storm.

Most of the great bowlers of yesteryear would struggle to maintain the records they had in this day and age. Pitches all over the world have become flatter and flatter.
