Who do you think , should succeed John Wright as India`s next Coach and why ?

Bringing Steve Waugh is impossible.

It could be only Greg Chappel or Dav Watmore.
And finally I chose Dav Watmore

lol..if he becomes the coach,Bangladesh would have lost everything to India.First their Physio-John Gloster & now their coach.

Hope Bangladesh players don't come to India following their Physio & coach.Even if they come the Indian team is full now.Even classic players like Laxman have to sit out.

It's not a matter of who we think should.......It's a matter of who will probobly end up doing it. For instance i bet ots of indian fans wish john buchanan would do it. But lets face it, not many coaches in the would would leave CA.


I thing steve waugh, i do have a reason for this...............but i cant remember why, lol.

Steve Waugh can but Saurav would spoil it.
Dav Whatmore is easily avaliable now.

Yea i know, but then the questin is "who is the worlds best coach........lets have him"

I mean no body wants a coach who isn't the best. With india in the state their in (with the exception of sehwag, dravid and tendulkar) they need the best you can get. India's players need to be tought the metal side of the game more than anything............and Aus are the best in the world at that so, yea john buchanan.

But thinking who should be doesnt make a difference if the coach is unavailiable or uninterrested.

I feel it should be Tom Moody, mainly because he is fairly low key as compared to other star coaches.

I think better have an outsider like Mr.Wright so that our team can benefit, yes we do have kapil Dev and Sunny but i dont think that will help us, some problems will arise

Kapil Dev is not a choice anymore after his failure as a coach with the Indian team.

I think Gavaskar or Sandeep Patil are choices and I think Patil is coaching some other team and so, Gavaskar is the only Indian choice. Sorry if I'm wrong.

The article on Cricinfo today reviewed everything basically. Dav Whatmore will be available in June while others like Greg Chappell and Tom Moody will be available almost immediately. It was interesting that Cricinfo chose all 8 Aussies as their options. At the moment Chappell seems the most likely since he was the runner-up last time and because Ganguly prefers him. Chappell has also been making very strong statements about his wish to coach India.

Unfortunately Buchanan's contract only terminates in October and CA will probably do whatever they can to save him. If it comes down to money, as I am sure it will not with Buchanan, then the Indians have their prize (richest cricket board in the world! ). But for now it looks like Chappell.

Chappell's fine...not Buchanan...what if Indian media gets hold of one of his letters? they will go nuts over it...it would be the most harmless of letters but these guyz will project it as a big conspiracy... we simply need someone who can deal with the variety of talents, temperaments and ethnicity found here... perhaps Whatmore has an edge in there...
