Who is your least favourite cricketer and why?

Its just you. He looks like a koala bear, a member of the Ant Hill Mob or like someone who is about to get a punch in the face

He does look like a little rat-like creature, though! And I want to punch him in the face too!

Ponting.

I fear for Australia every time this guy goes out to toss the coin, talk to his bowlers, argues with the umpires, has a whinge.

By far and away Australias WORST captain that ever lived.

Batting has NOTHING to do with captaincy, captains knocks are a joke and not actually a captains knock rather than a batsman doing his job.
And that he doesn't have any passion or emotion or entertainment around his batting. It's like watching a dull machine. He also says things, and takes them back. Has no original opinion of his own. Has no real personality.

Incase you haven't figured it out, I dislike Ponting...

Ponting for all the reasons given so far.

I like the way that the least favourite thread has got almost a page more than the favourite thread even though that one was there first :D

Although I dislike Ponting, he bats like a genius and I find it to be entertaining, particulary in ODI's, although he is very much a technical player.

He did it to lose weight.

Doesn't make him a cheat imo.
Unfortunately your opinion doesn't count for much in terms of the law. Using drugs to lose weight in a sport is certainly illegal (even if your mummy gives it to you ;)!)

Shane Warne because he is a match fixing, drug taking bigamist and the most overrated bowler of all time to boot.
He was never proven to be involved in match fixing; nor is he a bigamist nor is he overrated. The guy's a bowling legend.

:D

I know that, but alot of people seem to think he took it to make him a better bowler.

Drug taking yes, but could you please provide proof of the following.....

1. That Shane Warne has fixed a match.
2. That Shane Warne has ever been married to two women at once.

If not, shut up.

Ian Bell, Not only he is incredibly shite, but how he played all 5 tests in the Ashes really pissed me off and I'd love to punch him
Oh, that's another one I really can't stand.

Is it just me, or does Ponting look like that impressionist John Culshaw? I think thats his name anyway.

I think he looks more like Bryan Robson the West Brom manager, if you ask me i think they were seperated at birth :D

Sorry I just have to say this, but a Koala is not a bear! One of these little things that bug me.

I don't thinking hating Ponting because he doesn't have his own opinion is not a valid reason. Has anyone thought that he reigns in opinions and contradicts himself because he is forced to by Cricket Australia. I agree with everyone taking a stab at his captaincy though he is no Mark Taylor. But remember Michael Vaughan isn't a great captain either, the only reason Australia got close to winning that Edgbaston Test was because Vaughan was so defensive he gave them the runs. Plus all his creative fielding positions in the Ashes, done by Stephen Fleming previously. To be perfectly honest I don't think there are too many good captains around in Test cricket.

Well, I have quite some people.. I will say my top 5 in the "Hated cricketers" list in the descending order from 5 to 1.

5. Inzamam Ul Haq - Giving stupid reasons for a mistake that he has done. Acting up like a fool in not knowing the laws of the game...

4. Saeed Anwar - because he always scores against india

3. Sanath Jayasuriya - same reason as Saeed Anwar! In fact, the day he scored that 340, I couldnt control my tears! One of the saddest days in my life

2. Muttiah Muralitharan - I quite dont like his action, and I feel he doesnt deserve to compete with a legendary bowler like Warne in the "most no. of wickets" record. And also I feel "he doesnt bowl in a manner in which he should bowl". Ok, the laws of cricket have been amended to allow his action and that he is lawfully right, but as Bishen Singh Bedi rightly says, this game is not for players with such hyperextension, and I agree fully with him.

1. SHOAIB AKTHAR - Oh gosh!!! A guy who I hate most! He was the one who triggered off that sensational scenes in Eden Gardens by blocking Tendulkar's run and in the process running him out in the most illegal manner! I was really angry when he tried to ignite Tendulkar through his comments during the 2003 World Cup and I really enjoyed it wholeheartedly when Tendulkar tore him to pieces in that memorable over which went for 18 runs. Also I hate him for that beamer he bowled to Dhoni and took a long long long time to apologise (at least I didnt see the frame where he apologised!). And also another reason is that of his bowling action (see my comments above on Murali's action; the same applies to this fellow as well)
