why bowlers to batsman, not the other way around?

Nah, he seriously wanted to be a fast bowler.

Sachin Tendulkar is the MRF Pace Foundation's greatest contribution to Indian Cricket, ironically enough.

Bowling requires more skill tbh, at least at international level and I suppose everyone has to bat which is why there are more good batsman. Plus batters are lazy, and most bowlers that turn into batters are lazy as well. Can't be bothered putting in the hard yards at fitness training. I'm a fast bowler so maybe I'm a bit biased :p

ohh That?s spot on mate, tell them batters who just walk there like they are gods and kicks us all over the place, thinking batting is so difficult to bowling. You?re my new best friend :cheers

It is a batsmen friendly game and i guess bowlers are more prone to injuries than batsmen.

@ Zorax your making me feel bad now, then why the hell I cant improve my batting, according to your theory I should be a better batsman by now atlest

Doesn't apply to everyone. But you should be a better batsman now than when you started your career. I know my batting improves with the more I play, and several tailenders at the higher level turned themselves into competent lower order batsmen over time - Kumble, Vettori, Hoggard, Bhajji, Vaas, Steyn, Hauritz, Wilfred Rhodes...

no, not for me i was a better batsman when i was playing for my school, got a 100 also bating 5-6. but at first class level never even got past 40. always batted 10-11... :facepalm

Yeah, all my mates are batters and they're always moaning about how with batting you only get one opportunity, if you get out thats it, well at least you don't have to run in all day you just get to stand there and smack it. When you really think about it most bowlers are crazy to have ever wanted to bowl instead of batting, me included I guess :p

I'm kind of annoyed I didn't bat more when I was younger because I'm not a bad batsman just I never got to play in a grade where i could go and have some fun.

Only gets one chance!!! my foot !!

How many wicket taking balls they miss only because their not in form, and how many catches put down after working our ass off!!! Just to get 3 wickets a day how many times you have to jump up and down doing a totally unnatural thing for a human body, under the hot sun (mostly i play is sri lanka)

And they say they only get a chance errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Batsmen are total biatches. Show up, stand all day in the field usually doing nothing, walk out an smack a few shots, walk back, done for the day. PPFFFFTTTTTT. Very impressive.

Brad Hogg. Started his career as a number 6 batsman for WA and didn't bowl at all in his first few games.

Damn you Angy.

I also thought about Justin Ontong who went from batsman to batting-allrounder but didn't consider it a worthy enough transition.

Ajit Agarkar are you sure on that . i remember actually playing with him when he was playing for india under 19. he was a bowler who can bat a bit back then...

Brad Hogg hmmmm now thats news . one of a kind then, but then again he always could bat at no 6-7 cant he?

Yes, I'm pretty sure. I've heard the story about how Sachin advised him to become a bowler quite a few times now from different sources.
