Okay this is my idea. Maybe someone might have done it before but there you are.
Stamina Limit system:
Overview:
(Taking myself as an example)
Name : saiyaman
Stamina limit : 7 (specified by the league owner)
Current Stamina : 6
Stamina limit credits: 2 (can be specified by the league owner)
What it means:
The Stamina limit is the maximum number of matches one can play in a row. It is decided by the owner of the league and can be kept exceptionally high for the skipper and the vice captain and if required, the Wicketkeeper as well(They are of course required
). Every time you play in a match, your current stamina decreases by 1. In the above example I have played 1 match and have spent one stamina point. Once my stamina points reach 0, I can either be rested or be played according to my stamina limit credits which is 2.
Now here?s what happens: when a player is rested for one match, he gains 2 stamina points until the limit specified(This can also be a owner only changeable attribute which increases over time as the player grows and decreases a little as he ages). In the case when the player has spent all stamina points, but happens to be an important player, the captain can choose to rest him and save him for future matches or he can??overwork him(Stamina limit credits).
When a player is overworked, for each match he plays beyond his limit, he requires to be rested for 2 matches to regain 1 point. So for example I was overworked for 2 matches beyond my own limit, my stamina decreases by -2 for each match.
Taking the example shown above, let?s say I played 6 more matches and my stamina became 0 but I was picked to play for 2 more matches. Now my stamina becomes -4. So my status would be:
Stamina limit : 7
Current Stamina : -4
Stamina limit credits : 0
When a player?s stamina goes below 0, he is to be rested for 2 matches to regain 1 stamina point. So in this case, I would have to be rested for 4 matches if I? am to get back to the normal stamina rate. Players can avoid this by one personal choice: by choosing to opt out of a series or tour with which they will be fully rejuvenated and their stamina points are fully recharged. The choice of resting a player for a match or overworking him is up to the captain according to how he picks his team.
Injuries(if they are a part of the league) can also be integrated into this system. Say a player has a minor injury, then his stamina points can be reduced to like 1 or 3(Real players sometimes still play with minor injuries like a injured wrist in a very important match). Major injuries can cost the player by reducing his stamina to 0 or even below that!
That?s the end of the concept I was thinking about. If this is implemented, it might add a realism to the league because players do get tired at one point and it would add a strategic area for the captain. Should he use the nearly overworked player who?s in fine form for this match or should he save him for the next?
The best thing this concept does is help every player have a fair chance of making it in the playing eleven. So what do you think guys?
The only disadvantage I see in this is more added work to the person who handles stat updates for players. This can be resolved a little by sending a weekly update to the captains about their player's current stamina.
