England Steady

England have made a steady start in their match against Canada. A few good things for the 1st 30 overs came out of the match, and then again, a few bad things came out of the opening part. The bad start was that Andrew Strauss couldnt continue his great World Cup form this afternoon, being bowled out for only making 2 runs, into the 2nd over of the match. Strauss was very disssapointed in himself because of this effort, and now puts the pressure on the other players to fill his shoes and make a good score for England.

But some good signs came out of the morning, with young gun Alastair Cook, playing beautifully in his came back for England. Hampered by injury which left him out of the side and Collingwood into the side, but today Cook was back in the side and given an oppourtunity again at number 1. Cook started beautifully, never looked like he has missed a match with the way he was playing out there. The Canadian bowlers knew the weakness of Cook wich was on his non preffered side of the bat, which is the off side on the ground, so they targeted that spot on the pitch, but nothing could stop Cook knocking the ball around wherver it was pitched. Cook didnt play much balls down the ground, as most of his runs where on the off side for the left hander, as you can see on this Spider chart for Cook.

Alastair Cook's good innings came to an end, when he was LBW'd by Seebaran, and finished on 52 which would give the young kid some confidence. Michael Vaughan and Kevin Pietersen are at the crease now for England, and just remeber that Flintoff and Pietersen came home with a bang for England against the United States, and Flintoff is still to come, what can England produce here. Vaughan is 35 not out, going beautifully, and Pietersen is starting to pick up the pace on 21 not out.

England didnt make the Super 8's, and to let you now New Zealand went on to win the World Cup.

Now Warne has finished his time up in England, and now will coach the Aussies, which i will start in a new thread..

I have come a long way in making my story. Thanks for everyone for supporting my story, and hopefully my next story will be alot better.

Thanks everyone Roofrom50

It was a great thread with lot of actions Roo.. Pity that England wasn't successful in WC under Warne. This might worry Aussies :p

Great end to this story :clap Keep it up! :)
