England fall short

England have been defeated by Kenya in an upset match. England fell 8 runs short of the Kenya total of 206, with England only making 198 for 6 wickets. With 10 overs to come, England needed 80 runs from 60 balls, and they fell 8 runs short. England took there time to reach this total, as there opening batters took their time to score the runs. They took their time, but they made good scores, Paul Collingwood and Andrew Strauss opened the batting, and scored big. Collingwood making 53 and Strauss knocking up 57. Vaughan made 21 and Pietersen made 12. Andrew Flintoff tried all he can to get the run rate up a bit, knocking up 30 from 14 balls, before he was bowled by Patel after trying to smash another 6. Ian Bell was dissapointing, as he was suppose to be getting the runs in the middle oreder, but was run out and made nothing. Paul Nixon was there only help now, and made 16 not out with Caddick on 4 not out, and the 50th over came past, England losing by 8 runs, which surley has ended their World Cup journey. They have 1 more match, and if they win, things might be interesting.

England Start beautifully

England have started brilliantly in their match against United States for the World Cup Pool Match. England took 2 wickets in the 1st 3 overs of the match. R. Alexander was the 1st to go, Stephen Harmison was the bowler and Kevin Pietersen was the catcher, without USA making any runs at that point, United States were 0/1. M. Johnson was getting bowled great by Caddick, as he made the 1st runs of the day coming into the 3rd over, but then Romero was gone, bowled by Caddick and caught by Ian Bell.

Andrew Caddick grabs a wicket without no runs being scored

England looked settle, 2 for 5 the score after 5 overs, but Johnson and Massiah started to put on the runs for United States. England opening bowlers were still bowling beautifully, as they troubled the batsman on many occasions, and if things were going England's way, they could of had another 2-3 wickets by this stage. But Johnson was playing well, getting through the tough bowling by Caddick and Harmison making 34, but his wicket fell at the 19th over, where the new bowler Anderson got the edge that landed in the hands of Nixon. 63/3

So now Massiah is at the crease that is playing well at the moment, and USA needs a miracle if they are going to reach 150 or more. Massiah is going good on 24 not out and the new batsman Staple just came into the crease and has 3 runs to his name, but England are looking for a low score to chase. Only 2 extras have been conceeded by England with 2 leg byes, and this is looking to be a good win for England at this stage.

C. Lambert Helps USA to respectable score

C. Lambert has scored a 36 run innings from just 17 balls to help USA to a resonable score against England. Lambert was the 6th batman to come in, after Massiah things started going wrong for the US. Lambert came in a smashed the ball around quiet easily.
USA give England a 175 run chase, things look in the bag for England already, but with the way they have been playing lately, things arent over yet.

England Defeat United States

England have defeated United States easily in their World Cup Pool Match. England had a target of 170+ to chase down from Kenya, and with just 5 players, they produced that score. Paul Collingwood and Andrew Strauss opened the scoring for England, but it was early that United States took their 1st wicket. Paul Collingwood didnt last very long, only making 2 before he was gone an LBW decision by H Johnson that sent him back to the pavillion. It was a very poor start by England already a wicket down, for only 7 runs. Michael Vaughan the captain came onto the ground, himself and Strauss looked to put on a good start to the innings, putting on a 20 runs partnership, but to everyones suprise, Michael Vaughan was all of a sudden dismissed, bowled by Islam and caught by Massiah the highest scorer for United States. England were now 2 for 36 and started to look worrried. And with their luck another wicket fell just 1 minute after the Vaughan wicket, and it was Strauss that went, after struggling against the United States bowling, Strauss made 20 after being bowled by Reid.

England loss the plot early

Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff were the 2 players at the crease now for England. Both these men have been outta form in the World Cup so far, and they really need to use their skills here against a pumped up USA side who think they have a chance to beating England. Both Pietersen and Flintoff played really well early off. New bowlers every few overs to confuse and upset Flintoff and Pietersen didnt work for Kenya, as both batsman were up to the work. Andrew Flintoff was hitting the ball around all around the place, knocking his way to 50 from just 42 balls, including 2 sixes and 3 fours. Kevin Pietersen was just sitting back and watching his vice-captain do much of the work, but when Flintoff looked to tier, Pietersen stood up and started knocking the ball around for the boundaries aswell.
