World ODI Team?

But at any time Sehwag is better as an opener than Watto.

Could be but Sehwag doesn't offer as much as Watto. Watto has played far less ODI cricket but he does average in the 40s and offers a good bowling option and is a really good fielder.
Nobody can compare with Sehwags strike rate to go along with that average but as a all round option during this past year Wattos has been better.

I'd always pick a genuine batsman as an opener rather than having a makeshift one, but in the case of Sehwag and Watson i'd pick Watson due to the fact that he has been in great touch for over 1.5 years now in all forms. Scoring quickly isn't always the best option so a batsman should be able to score according to the situation and Watson would be better suited than Sehwag who goes all out slogging.

yeah as an allrounder he is truely better and is more useful too, but the fear sehwag strikes among the bowlers and watching him playing made me to put him in that.

Here is my 15 man squad.

Sachin Tendulkar
Shane Watson
Kevin Peitersen
AB Devilliers
Mike Hussey
MS Dhoni (WK)
Mitchell Marsh/Sakib Al Hasan/Luke Wright ( based on the pitch)
Mitchell Jhonson
Stuart Broad
Graeme Swann
Zaheer Khan

extras: Shaun Tait, Eon Morgon, Chriss Gayle, Daniel Vettori.

Zaheer Khan

Yes but why criticise the selection of Broad, compared to Zak

Also his economy is inflated from playing Aus and SA a lot

Look at the strike rates of the Bangladeshi bowlers, they're way too defensive. No wonder why they lose so many matches.

Razzak is probably the best one but most of his wickets came against Zimbabwe and there was a time when he went wicketless for 5 matches :facepalm

did a world test team, and since alot has changed since the last post here I thought I'd do a wolrd ODI team too.

1. S Watson
2. M Hafeez (has had an excellent resurgence and has been a genuine offspinner)
3. Amla
4. Tendulkar
5. Y Singh
6. U Akmal
7. Dhoni WK/C
8. Swann
9. Gul
10. Z Khan
11. Malinga

No Steyn? Akmal and Hafeez over ABDV, Jayawardene, or Sanga? Dislike.

1. Watson

4. AB de Villers
5. Jayawardene
6. Yuvraj
7. Dhoni
8. Swann
9. Lee
10. Steyn
11. Malinga

Rest of the squad: Sangakkara, Zaheer, Gul, Ross Taylor.

Trott was close, but there already a lot of top order batsmen.

Bar that knock in the World Cup final, I don't see what Dhoni's done in the past year to be picked over Sangakkara as wicketkeeper, who has been a far more consistent performer of recent. Yes, Watson at #6 is somewhat dated, but in his current form, I'm fairly confident he'd perform quite well anywhere in the top 6.
