I'm laughing at the Golden Warriors team, David Hussey. :help

I voted for the White Eagles, they have such a good bowling line up.

I was going to vote for Growling Tigers, till I looked at their bowling attack. I will also go for White Eagles, very good team balance.

Good team, imo. Richards, Dhoni and Pollock are superb picks. However, Mark Waugh is wasted at five, should be opening instead of Gayle with a middle order batsman at five. The rest of the team is strong, although I feel Waqar is not a great pick - he was notoriously expensive in ODIs.

The Sharks

1) Kumar Sangakarra (WK)
2) Matthew Hayden
3)Jacques Kallis
4)Mohammad Yousuf
5) Nathan Astle
6)Hashan Tillakaratne
7) Jacob Oram
8)Wasim Akram
9) Shane Warne (c)
10)Brett Lee
11)Makhaya Ntini

Not bad, but with a few strange picks. Tillakaratne was a poor batsmen, who never got going in ODI cricket. Astle was a difference maker but an inconsistent batsmen. Sangakkara opening is a bizarre move considering he has only done it in 21 ODIs before, albeit with a good record.

The bowling attack is strong though, which makes up for the others somewhat.

Laughing Buddha

3)Brain Lara

Yeah! Pretty good. The only eyebrow is with Kapil Dev at five. He was more of a slogger in ODI cricket, with the strike rate of 95.07 but an average down at 23.79. Top bowler though and the batting is deep.

The Black Brigade

1) Sourav Ganguly (c)
2) Sachin Tendulkar
3) Dean Jones
4) Damien Martyn
5) Andy Flower (WK)
6) Michael Bevan
7) Lance Klusener
8) Andrew Flintoff
9) Malcolm Marshall
10) Abdul Qadir
11) Shane Bond

Here is the strongest team for me. A few less than average picks with Flower and Qadir, but other than that, you have some of the great ODI players. That top three is exceptional and the Bevan, Klusener, Flintoff combination in the lower order is fantastic. The bowling attack is brilliant too, with Marshall, Flintoff and Bond all brilliant ODI bowlers.

The Growling Tigers

1. Saeed Anwar
2. Brendan McCullam (wk)
3. Ricky Ponting (c)
4. Kevin Pietersen
5. Javed Miandad
6. Shiv Chanderpaul
7. Heath Streak
8. Anil Kumble
9. Javagal Srinath
10. Ishant Sharma

Good team but Ishant Sharma?! And only 10 players too.

Fire Knights CC

1. Gordon Greenidge
2. Gautham Gambhir
3. Michael Hussey
4. Alec Stewart [Wk]
5. Rahul Dravid
6. Ryan Ten Doeschate
7. Imran Khan [C]
8. Richard Hadlee
9. Curtly Ambrose
10. Nathan Bracken
11. Glenn McGrath

Nice side but Michael Hussey? RTD? Very strong bowling attack though.

Golden Warriors

1.Virendar Sehwag
2.Sanath Jayasuriya(c)
3.Inzamam-ul-Haq
4.David Hussey
5.Yuvraj Singh
6.Brad Haddin(wk)
7.Harbhajan Singh
8.Sohail Tanvir
9.Mitchel Johnson
10.Zaheer Khan
11.Mutiah Muralitharan

Pretty good side but it goes downhill quickly from 6 onwards. Harbhajan is batting too high, Tanvir is average, Johnson is not sufficiently proven, Zaheer has only just started bowling well and Muralitharan is a great pick. David Hussey is a bizarre one too.

This post made me realize what an idiot I am. I choose Tillakaratne on test stats, ugh.

Yea Waqar was expensive but he is probably the best ODI bowler of his era. Yea Wasim got more wickets but he also played more matches, Waqars record is as good as Wasims and he has 13 5 wicket hauls. The most in ODI history.
