World Premier League? T30 Championship Season 8

I suppose your only weakness would be that your tail can't bat, and your lower middle order ain't the strongest, but that doesn't really matter when it's only 30 overs

And also, because of injuries, I'm not sure whether it's the best thing to play your first XI all at once. Still thinking that one over

Yes 8-10 are all really number 10 or 11's. If that turns out to be a problem though, I could bring Hastings in for Clark or Ajmal and bat him at 8.

My probable lineup

Butt
Paine
Bell
Ingram
Flintoff
Williamson/ (Someone Else)
(Someone)
Warne
vaas
Tremlett
Asif

It looks good as a whole, just we lack a good lower order bat and a big name

Let's see, like you said you lack a good lower order batsman and a big name and you lack a bit in your batting. Your bowling is pretty strong but your 2 openers are nothing better than reasonable, Bell is pretty good, Ingram is yet to really prove himself as a great bat on the International stage, Flintoff is getting too old and likely to get injured, and Williamson hasn't looked too great on the International stage, a SR of 60 in 9 ODIs. And his bowling hasn't been that great. He has however got a decent Domestic record.

And looking at the bowling you have 2 oldies in Vaas and Warne who could break down at any time.

yeah, i already got my 2 big names before these last 2 rounds so I don't have to worry about what happened last season.

Probable Lineup:

1. Shaun Marsh
2. Adrian Barath/Domestic Batsman
3. Jonathan Trott
4. AB de Villiers+
5. Callum Ferguson
6. Marcus North*
7. Ryan McLaren if I get him or a Domestic all-rounder
8. Nathan Hauritz
9. James Anderson
10. Ryan Sidebottom
11. Shane Bond

Looks fine to me though in Marcus North lies a weak link . Also you have got a couple of oldies who are highly capable of long term injuries . Otherwise , a very strong team .

@ Dipak : A moderate side that lacks a big name .

This will be my Playing XI :

Imran Nazir / Good batsman in draft
Steve Davies +
Kevin Pietersen *
Yuvraj Singh
Umar Akmal
-Good All rounder- (hopefully Dussey/Perera or a decent all rounder in drafts) ^
Ryan ten Doeschate ^
Mitchell Johnson ^
Stuart Broad ^
Clint Mckay ^
Anil Kumble / Decent bowler in drafts ^

Lol, now I have three national team captains, Smith, Ponting and Sammy. :D

A couple of oldies? Bond is the only real one capable of any big injury so I'll be finding a replacement for him in the draft anyway. I guess Sidebottom is 33 but hopefully he can avoid any injuries.

Looking at your side, your weak link is at the top of your order with your 2 openers as well as that all-rounder that isn't filled up yet. Dussey is having a shocker of a season (averaging under 30 in Domestic cricket) and is only really known for his quick overs so I wouldn't be rating him any higher than North with the ball. Your bowling is pretty weak, Johnson is the most inconsistent bowler ever and might have the occassional good game but he'll go at 6-8 an over in the process. Broad's crap, Kumble's old and McKay may be good but doesn't have that much International experience and isn't even in Australia's World Cup squad.

Talking of incosistency or crap , what is Ritzy then ?? Torn apart in the SC conditions by India , a big nosecut during the Ashes and now is highly doubtful for the WC . Mckay could not make the 15 man cut only as he was ruled out by the stress fracture he suffered . And i would hardly call a bowler with Economy rate less than 7 in t20s and one who is at the Top 10 bowler's rankings in both ODIs and Tests 'crap' . Kumble is old but boasts the least economy rate aggregating all 3 seasons of IPL . As for Mitch , Aussies got off the mark in the Ashes solely because of him though the GABBA test was a pure let off due to the very same guy :p

About Hauritz, he's always been a good ODI bowler and is by a long way Australia's current best spinner, he had one bad series in India coming straight back from injury not to mention that overseas spinners barely ever do well in India due to Indian batsman being good at playing spin. He was dropped unfairly for the Ashes and Australia payed the price.
